Dutch, That's correct. It is 3/32" aluminum.I believe Holley makes them these days,However this one looks like it was cut by hand back in the day.I wish I could have found more motor acc. parts that were original instead of chrome.I will replace some if not all after dyno or strip the chrome off and paint them original.Just taking me longer to round up the originals from a friend of mine,as it usually does but it is very well worth it. :blah:

Amazing how an innner fender can be done like that to get a set of Headers on it and be consisdered "ok" by the populous...Yet, do that today and it is considered to be a "Hack job"....

Cooter, yes indeed.I agree with you on the hack job it would be called today.I would blame it on the technology of the day but they also beat the heck out of the rear part of the front fenderwell with a large hammer to make them fit,so that won't really fly.and they had to put the flanges on after they went through the inner fender. It looks like I am stuck doing the same hack job if I want to look the same as the original huh? :faint:

Just an afterthought,I guess when they made a car that won the U.S.Nat's and set class record E.T. they knew they didn't have a trailer queen.Thank god for that.I wouldn't own a car I couldn't run through the paces and have to spend more time cleaning than driving.Nothing against trailer queens,it's just not my bag.

Cooter, I haven't forgotten about you.I'm waiting to hear if they are out and cleaned up yet.I will shake the trees and rustle some bushes today and let you know.I need to make a run out to the farm and see where we are on that, and I also need to pickup an original air cleaner box for my motor and some other parts he should have rounded up for me by now.I just recieved an email from a reporter for Allpar who is coming to Kearney before Mem.Day for the first of many (hopefully) interviews and photo shoot of my story so I need to get on the stick regarding my parts and your manifolds.

hpe600rt,OH YEAH! That will feel good, you bet. However,I must admit that I have had THE WORST nightmare  :scared:(recurring I might add) :scared: about the first time I run a staged light race. Now from the time I arrive at the track until the second stage lights are tripped in my lane things could not be any better (imagine the excitement and the thrill about the return of this car to nhra racing  :blah: )BUT then as the green lights cue I dump the clutch and floor it from 6000rpm to wide open ANNND ,I RED LIGHT AND KILL THE MOTOR ALL IN ONE BIG JUMP AND DONE.As I have said this car is a blessing,AND a curse.I hope that wasn't too much information,it's a sick world and I'm a happy man.So have a laugh on me when you're thinking about that part of this story,BUT do not tell me later you will not be thinking of this moment when you do see the car at a dragway near you and laughing inside.Believe me I WILL BE! LOL

I just got the official word from a major mopar news outlet that I will be visited for a recorded interview and photo shoot at the He-Man Woman-Haters Clubhouse, (my garage) on the morning of May 25th.I don't know the publication date as of yet but I will definitley keep you posted. This will be the first of (hopefully) many articles that will be done on the "GOLDFISH" and her return to drag racing.
