Hi Brusco, sorry if you posted it somewhere but I understand the engine is a 273 I think?  What are the plans/specs?  Are you going to bore out (if possible) the engine or stroke it or just spiff it up a little, make it back to the way it was when it raced?  Thanks!  :)

Super Blue 72 ,check out pics on page 5
hpe600rt, .Pete,my engine builder says with what all we put in it we could be looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 375 H.P.Not bad for a little 273.it is by no means up to passing muster in the F/S  class anymore but when the G.C.'s raced it believe me they did PLENTY of things that got extra H.P. but SOMEHOW pased tech.inspections (most of the time)and they only match raced against other Factory teams.I plan on the same type of match races and will only have to pass a safety inspection not a technical inspection (already checked that with the NHRA inspectors)so I took some liberties. Here's a really good one for you. I had Pete put 318 valves in the 273 heads which are 10 thousandsths bigger in diameter intake and exhaust.By the way ALL of the valve train is Titanium from Mopar performance. Then Pete cc'd the heads to exactly what the G.C.'s had achieved 57.3cc.The cam is a Mopar Direct Connection double roller rocker with .557 lift with 296 duration with an overlap of 76 and a centerline of 110.The Rockers are blue aluminum and have a 1.50 to 1 ratio.Comp. ratio is 11.2 to 1 w/JE custom made domed pistons.Dual plane Hi-Rise intake, windage trays upper and lower.Mopar perfomance distributer.Holley 650 Dbl.pumper.Bored .40 over.10 qt.oil pan is made to G.C. specs with high pressure, high volume oil pump w/hemi swivel pick-up.Mopar performance race fluid vibration damper,11" clutch, and the whole thing was balanced and blueprinted.Crank is stock billet steel.

I am off to do a promo event for my car and won't be back till next Mon. so I thought i would leave you all with a pic of the Mag. that the "GOLDFISH" will soon make a return to the cover of again. What a once in a lifetime dream,to own a car that makes the cover of HOT ROD Mag.,and to be fortunate enough to have it happen TWICE.That is just so crazy for me to comprehend sometimes because as I have said before, when I decided to get another Mopar back in 1998 I just wanted a fast muscle car, that's all.Who knew?Have a great weekend and Mother's Day. I hope you all had as good of a Mothers Day weekend as I did. When I got back from my trip I had an email from Don Krom.He is a previous owner of the "GOLDFISH"between July of '77 and Nov. of '79.I am fortunate enough to have the Bill of Sale that was in the paperwork I had to buy from another previous owner so I knew Don was a legitimate previous owner.(I have had a few shady characters that have tried to lay false claim to the car,all of which when faced with the facts have disappeared back into woodwork.)Don was very forthcoming with some rich stories about the car and his time in the drag racing world.I hope to trade emails and gather some more historical pics and stories I can relate to my fellow forum members and guests to this site.I have the name of the gentlman he bought it from in '77.Whoever he bought it from would be a missing link in the years after it disappeared from  the G.C.'s in '72.I will keep updating this thread with new and different info as it comes in,for now a few more pics of the restore.Brusco

Front clip before sodablasting, after sodablasting, primered, and then frame painted and all new poly bushed front end installed. Then we towed her to shop to install the front clip(With Modog).Front clip installed

Dutch,Not sure what you are looking at but the fender wells on the sides were beat in by the G.C.'s with a large ballpeen hammer to accomodate the special fenderwell headers they made specifically for this car.Other than that maybe the sodablasting added that effect but I don't see it now that it is painted.

GranCuda1970,I have had several conversations with one of the Editors at Mopar Muscle and have been told that yes, they would like to do a "breakout blowout cover story on the car when it is done because it deserves it".Hot Rod also wants to do an exclusive so I have options.I just haven't decided which way to go yet.
