I received an email from a gentleman in Sweden and this was the text:

Hi Bruce
Gary H from the 62-65 site sent me to you.
Ive found a golden commando in sweden,as far as i can see it´s authentic, and as far as the Little info i found out about it it´s been in sweden since at least the 80`s and you didn´t build period perfect race replica cars back then,at least not over here.I Think it´s a real  one. Ive got my hook out and trying to gather info about it.
What do you think??

Best regards Michael
These are the the pics he sent me. =ALL PHOTOS BY MIKAEL BERGMAN=

This was my reply :

Interesting find. The Golden
Commandos only made one "Goldfish" and the one I have has original documentation to verify that it is the original so I would have to say it is a copy, clone, replica, what ever word they use today. I am very interested in how close they got exact though. Can you get pics under the hood and of the interior and dash ? Can you feel the metal to see if you can tell if it's acid dipped?

Bruce  Lindstrom

He confirmed the car was in fact a replica and although I have tried to get his story and the story of the owners he has not gotten back to me to date. I think that it would be a great addition to my storyboard on the car as a great tribute to the Golden Commandos that half way around the world someone wanted to emulate their car that I now own.

Wow Bruce, how wild is that seeing another Goldfish and so far away!  Would definitely be cool to get more info!

Super Blue 72 The back story on this car sure would be a great addition to my story but my further inquiries had gone unanswered. I think I burst his bubble  :swear: :stomp: :walkaway: when I told him he had a replica.

I wonder how much it would cost to get that replica over to you?  Would make a cool conversation piece sitting next to your garage.  :grinyes:

:clueless: You would think he would want to keep in touch with you because if he ever does restore that car,who better than you to get info on his car as far as having the original,i just don't get it........  :bricks1:

That's what I thought but he isn't the owner, he just saw the car and stopped by to check it out. When he found out it wasn't the original he stopped communicating with me. If I could find out who the owner is I might be able to do something, but no such luck.

you could open a new topic on the matter. There are several Swedish members here. Someone might know something.

Good idea Dutch, I'll work on that. I really would like to know who the owner is. he may be more forthcoming with the history of that car.

Great idea!

Bruce, if you get it, you can call it Golden Commandos Swedefish or Swedish Fish.

Hello again from Nebraska, it has been a busy 2-3 months since I last checked in and much has happened with the "GOLDFISH". I have recently returned from the Mopar Nat's. ( MOPAR @ Carlilse) whatever we want to call it and it was AMAZING ! There were six of us Golden Commandos there and the "GOLDFISH". On Wednesday and Thursday I had three magazine interviews, Mopar Action, Mopar Muscle, and Mopar Collectors Guide, along with the corresponding photoshoots for the same magazines.  All of us G.C's. were Celebrity Judges and got to speak on the main stage on Friday commemorating the 100th birthday of DODGE and the 50th birthday of the Barracuda. "GOLDIE" was in our autograph tent on Thursday and Friday and was on the showfield for judging on Saturday while I was judging other cars and speaking with the other G.C's at a seminar we gave about the history of the Plymouth racing effort.  Sunday we were back at the autograph tent. Goldie won a Celebrity Choice award and I awarded one to another '65 barracuda that was pristine. On the way home I stopped at Lucas Oil Raceway where GOLDIE won the U.S. Nat's. 49 yrs. ago and talked to the track manager about taking some pics under their sign out front as the track was closed. However, he decided that NO, I was not going to be allowed to do that. I was invited to pass through the main gate and untrailer the car near the start-finish line and drive her to the staging lights and I got some AMAZING pics of Goldie on her old stomping grounds. I was BLOWN away by the hospitality we received and we are going to coordinate a G.C's. 50th yr. celebration of the "GOLDFISH" winning it all at the track next yr. as soon as I got home safely I welcomed my kids to Kearney for our Cruise Nights and drag races this last weekend. I was at the MONA parking lot where the dragsters are displayed. Sadly it is not a show and shine that gives out awards so no new trinkets for Goldie but she did make her first appearance at the Drag Strip on Saturday for two daytime and one nighttime pass. Times were a bit slow because I am new to driving this car but I have video that shows I got the front left wheel off the ground. I must say the last three weeks have been a whirlwind of nonstop excitement. Time for a lunch break after all that typing but stay tuned this afternoon for pics and vids. of all the festivities I have been blessed to be a part of these last three weeks.
