This is one of those items you DON"T want go cheap.   I think Dave at Roseville had a few on sale.  Might be worth making a call to him.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

 :iagree:

I would suggest contacting Dave also. You can use your old one as a core. It doesn't matter if you are switching to a one speaker dash. The frames are all the same. In my opinion it is money well spent. You will learn to hate the hard plastic feel of a dash cap.   :2cents:

I don't know if they will be able to change a 3 speaker dash to a single speaker.  You'll need to look into that.  On my single speaker dash, the holes for the extra speakers aren't even cut out of the metal frame.  I don't know how they would fill in those holes if you only want one speaker.  I wouldn't think they'd take the time to weld them shut.  You may just want to use your existing pad as a core.

If you send your pad in to be restored or used as a core, TAKE YOUR VIN TAG OFF OF IT.  You may already know this.  Many have found out the hard way that the tag can't be returned if you leave it on the pad.  I am fortunate enough to not have to use a reproduction pad yet.  I do know from the experience of a friend that the Year One pad with the plastic frame does not work in hot weather.  It warps.

good question 6-pac.. i was thinking that it would be less places to crack back. but it lasted almost 40 years, and this time it would be out of the weather(sun) a lot less, so the three speaker should be used back, so they could be used if i ever put in a radio..thanks for getting me to think about it!!  how about it dave..1970,black,3 speaker, non a.c. with black script..i have a great core..
