Yeah, I'm alright. Car was paid for though, and we had just dropped full coverage when we moved to NE.

Good to hear nobody was hurt. I saw eight deer on the way to work this morning and I was thinking, "sooner or later one of these things is gonna surprise me"

I think I'd be a complete mess if it had been the 'Cuda. Trying to figure out what to do with the Sonata now. 80% of the car is still perfect.

I know the feeling all too well.     I just got my car back 2 weeks ago.  $6600+ in damage by a deer that was so small it barely cleared my hood.

We just found out that a young man my son & daughter went to high school with hit a deer on his motorcycle a little over a year ago, and lost his leg and has been in rehab ever since.  He's going to be otherwise OK, but we were very upset when we heard about this.  I ride too, and tend to focus on the road and have 'missed' dear on the sides of roads that my riding buddies saw & I didn't.  Be careful out there folks, especially those of you on two wheels.

Used cars are worth more nowadays, so I would guess it's more than worth it to repair it.

Just like with our classic cars, you need to snoop around to find someone outside of a full scale/big dollar body shop to do the repair work.  I would look on your local craigslist, but be certain to check out work they have already completed directly with the customer and get it in writing as to what you can expect to pay---- otherwise it could turn into a nightmare.

ps: I too hit a deer this past year in Montana.  I knew better than to be on that road at that time of the evening.  Kept my speed way down, but still did not see the deer in the bend in the road with the trees shading the moonlight.
