We just found out that a young man my son & daughter went to high school with hit a deer on his motorcycle a little over a year ago, and lost his leg and has been in rehab ever since.  He's going to be otherwise OK, but we were very upset when we heard about this.  I ride too, and tend to focus on the road and have 'missed' dear on the sides of roads that my riding buddies saw & I didn't.  Be careful out there folks, especially those of you on two wheels.

Yeah I ride also and deer are the worst of nightmares. Only a couple of close ones, on slower dirt roads though.

Glad to hear your OK Brooks, those smaller cars and our e-bodies (where the deer comes over the hood) can be dangerous. My wife drives a large SUV for that very reason.

Later, Jim

I had a VERY near miss with a deer one dark cool morning while commuting to work on my motorcycle.....my guardian angel was flying with me that morning!

Have had a few other close ones but none that made me pinch the seat that much!

Damn deer....why dont they enforce the law and make them cross at the "deer crossing" signs they put up!  LOL

I rented a new Impala and drove from SoCal to the Austin, TX area to pick up my daughter from college. Hit my first deer Tuesday night on the way home. Destroyed the headlight, drivers fender, and bounced off the driver's side rear door, destroying it. Also damaged the hood and driver's door.
This was on Interstate 10 westbound around Kerrville, TX. I have never seen such carnage. I'll bet there was a dead deer every mile.

I told my wife that if you were a bird of prey, livin is easy in the hill country of Texas.

Sorry to hear about you accident, glad you're ok.

Are those aftermarket rims/tires?  Since you just bought tires, to help minimize loss, if the car is totaled, do you have the stock rims to swap back and sell the nicer rims/tires separately?

Good to hear nobody was hurt. I saw eight deer on the way to work this morning and I was thinking, "sooner or later one of these things is gonna surprise me"

Barbeque at your place this evening?

If you gut it right after it gets hit within a few minutes after, the meat should still be good.

Gotta cut it up quick.  Assuming you did not rupture the internals.

I went through Texas in January, Couldn't believe how many deer there were dead on the roads.
Seriously, more than one per mile.  There was enough meat to feed an army out there rotting away.

Glad to hear your alright.  Those Deer collisions are, I believe, what causes the most car damage in America.

Stock wheels are long gone.  We cut them into pieces when we did the intake casting...
