At great risk of angering the moderators by going off topic, I'll make this brief:
I was in the US Navy for 8 years, I was a loadmaster on C130's (VR-62).
... the crew all had LONG hair, being a metal-head myself, and being constantly surrounded
by the 'high and tight' hair cuts on the US males, I had a stroke. I couldn't talk. I was in
love with the other team now.

Apologies to the moderators, now back to cuda talk!

Welcome Laurie,
I'm a newb as well.
I was in the military 26 years (Air Force and Air Nat'l Guard. Worked around C130s 24 of those years and LOVED it. The missions and the capabilities of those birds are awesome. I was a scheduler (Maint/flying) and saw many sights, from Antarctica to Iraq.
Anway, I was in your shoes with the Cuda search as well. I had to have a 1971. I previously owned a 70 Cuda convert, got stupid and sold it. Told myself if I ever get another one, it will be a 71.
Well a month ago, I found her. It's a project car which is all I could afford. But that's okay because I can work on her at my budget and to get her road worthy again some day.
Stay with your search. The economy has some owners selling more than ever IMO and you will find something one of these days.
Just a thought from a C130 guy / 71 Cuda owner...

Hi Shane!
How much longer will you be in town? We should do lunch or dinner at Spanky's on the harbor and talk 'cuda!!!
Laurie!
I fly out in the morning, but it would have been cool to meet another member of the site.  Next time I come to Hyannis for training, I will have to PM you.  Hopefully you will have a car for me to check out by then!!

Not alot to look at.  I am much slower than the majority of folk on this site.
Still, I keep turning one bolt at a time.

I think most of us on here are looking for a hemi cuda.
Or a hemi challenger for that matter.

The search goes on.  Just don't loose out on precious time not driving one while you look for your perfect needle.
At least I can say I have finally driven several over the last 8 or so years.  SSSHHH, I was a pontiac guy.

I read that whole topic and learned so much from the photo's, awesome. Good news! I already have a new 3000psi B&S pressure washer! So that block is checked for when I have to wash down my car! Loved the individual dollies under the wheels, great idea. Bagging and tagging, I never would have thought of that. And I'll be taking a LOT of pictures *BEFORE* I start taking things apart. More good news: found out tonight my next door neighbor (seasonal, he and the family live in FL during the winter) has built/restored several muscle cars!  :woohoo:   :wow: :swaying: :jumping:     Experienced help is not only here but next door too! Can it get any better?

I think the Mopar Gods are starting to smile at me....   fingers crossed!

No need to whisper about Pontiacs, did you see this entry in the Mecum auction next week? A very nice and historical car!

welcome
go find a 70... and keep it 70   :bigshades:

Thank you! And I'm sensing a wee bit of bias in favor of the 70? I think its wonderful when people
love their cars!

Welcome "new girl" for a "old boy"   :roflsmiley:

Once you get your Mopar, you will find all kinds of people who offer to help you with them, and then you being a girl to boot, you will be beating the Mopar guys off with a stick.   :grinyes:

Reading the threads on here and getting some good books on auto restorations will give you some good advice and tips.

Keep looking, you will find a car you want.  My search took over two years, but I got her (her name is Cleo, short for Cleopatra) and she will be with me for a long time to come.

I got the 1970 Cuda, but still need the hot blonde to ride shotgun!

Hey Tom!
Thanks for the great post! I'm thinking if we put C130 and cuda people together in the same room there's gonna be trouble! GOOD trouble! Antartica? Ski-birds? Good friend of my mine was an FE in the last skibird squadron, didn't care much for his stories, too cold! I had one (1) mission to Thule, that was enough for me, landing on permafrost, turning around by putting 3&4 to 60% and 1 & 2 into reverse, I don't think so. The PO at the base offered an 'official' document of crossing the Artic Circle, signed and dated. I ran out of time to get there before we had to leave, one of my biggest regrets. Where were your duty stations?

Ah, I think I'm going off topic again, sorry!

Hey, we both had ENTAC clearances,    WHERE did you find your car and most importantly, are there any more? Roger the economy, many have mentioned that.... I just need some love and luck from the Mopar Gods. BZ on finding your perfect car, please send a pic?

Cape Scare?  :roflsmiley:

Darn, sorry you're leaving so soon, yes please PM when you come back! Can't guarantee the car but can guarantee a lot of boring questions in person and over fried clams at Spanky's! Good trip home.

Hey Jeff!
I actually travel to the Great State of New Hampshire monthly to go shopping, prices on everything from food to toilet paper are nearly half of what they are here, and NO SALES TAX. I'll be going up next week, either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather. I get off at exit 1 (Rockingham) and stalk the stores on 28, is this near you?

I was a 'regular' years ago at Epping, when it was NHRA! I met John Force there, got his autograph, I couldn't have been any more nervous if I was meeting Jesus himself. Is Epping still IHRA now? ...wussies...  I knew the brother of the guy who owned and drove 'Split Second', that was so cool..... what good times.

Hey Ron! I need you Mopar guys NOW, so I don't buy the wrong car! Cleo is magnificent, I'm sure you both enjoy each others company, just beautiful. I'll take the names of those resto books now if available!

Cool! I just found the Schild book on Amazon (new, paperback, including shipping!) for $20.02! Ordered it!
I'll wait on buying the more expensive books until my cuda is at my house!
Thanks!

Hey guys,
I have to testify - I've learned more about cudas in the last 48 hours on this list than I've ever learned before, THANK YOU and keep up my education (please)!

This has also been VERY motivating as well. The cuda has gone from my bucket list to my to-do list, and its all because of you guys, thanks.  :ylsuper:

Welcome to the site!

Best of luck with the search & beyond. My only advice is start saving. Enthusiasm for one of these e-bodies can get bloody expensive, bloody quick!

It can also take a long time before things start to happen - patience is the key - and there's plenty of helpful & knowledgeable people here that are more than willing to assist once you're finally ready to take that plunge and spend your hard earned cash on your dream car.

Don't be shy & good luck!
