Hey Jeff!
I actually travel to the Great State of New Hampshire monthly to go shopping, prices on everything from food to toilet paper are nearly half of what they are here, and NO SALES TAX. I'll be going up next week, either Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the weather. I get off at exit 1 (Rockingham) and stalk the stores on 28, is this near you?

I was a 'regular' years ago at Epping, when it was NHRA! I met John Force there, got his autograph, I couldn't have been any more nervous if I was meeting Jesus himself. Is Epping still IHRA now? ...wussies...  I knew the brother of the guy who owned and drove 'Split Second', that was so cool..... what good times.

I`m not far from rte 28 in Salem at all,maybe 20 minutes.My house is only 10 minutes from New England Dragway so I`ve been a regular there on street nights abusing the `cuda.Good news is they went NHRA this year and are gearing up for a national event next year,should be awesome!

Yes there is an interest in E bodies here in Aus, there are a few members on here from down under, we have a good following of all MOPAR's fortunately we don't have to convert the older cars over to RHD like we used too. Shipping does cost a bit but the government taxes put a few off. Nothing like cruising down the road in an E body though, even when I was driving mine in America from Kansas to California it got a lot of attention.

You will pay less for a 72-74. And the grille is cooler (but JMO) ya I'm nuts!    And you will get more car for your money.   Work on it as you learn and can afford.

I never acknowledged your post to me, sorry! From what I've learned, the 72-74s are more plentiful but would be a challenge (pun intended) to convert to a '71. The 70 not so much, and I've learned I can still stuff a hemi into non-hemi 71. Lots of cheering for me to stay true to my dream and find that illusive '71! I am so looking forward to bringing home my cuda and starting the process, I can't wait. And someone please tag this post for future reference <g>. When I start complaining and whining about work, parts and prices, just throw this back in my face!

Best of luck with the search & beyond. My only advice is start saving. Enthusiasm for one of these e-bodies can get bloody expensive, bloody quick!

It can also take a long time before things start to happen - patience is the key - and there's plenty of helpful & knowledgeable people here that are more than willing to assist once you're finally ready to take that plunge and spend your hard earned cash on your dream car.

I'll PM you next week when I decide on a date to go to NH. 10 minutes from NED - close enough to smell the nitro when the wind blows correctly, cool! Great to hear NED saw the light and has come back to Jesus, I'll have to check their website now, any "Funny Cars Under The Stars" or "Night of Fire" planned for this summer? I remember one year they had a jet truck! I think it damaged the starting line badly? What are the odds John Force would come back? Oh boy....

Thank you! Yikes, I didn't realize that number of hemi's was so small? 
I think my needle just got smaller in a bigger haystack. After only 48 hours on this sight,
it may be prudent for me to consider a 70 or 71 and dress it up a bit. I'm still going to look
for that little needle, but it sounds like I may have to be realistic at some point down the road.
Any pics of your '71?

I think he is thinking of the convertible models . . . . There was a lot more than a couple dozen hemi cudas made especially in 1970.  I agree there was fewer in 1971 but still more than what was stated.

Both long stories that can be found in the forums here....... Cody is a pretty cool guy who happens to be restoring some Cudas and Challengers and for a while it seemed he was buying a lot of 71's. I think he bought 2 but others were proddin in fun!

I read somewhere that only 15 '71 hemi cuda convertables were made. 2 went to Europe, the rest stayed here, is that correct? That would 'splain why they go for 2m now... jeez... And they were 'only' 5K new? Better investment than any IRA, had we only known...   Is there any way to accurately determine how many hemi cuda hardtops were made in '71?

Yeah I saw a few of his projects and he showed me the torque boxes he put in so I went and put some in mine. Good choice of wanting a 71 they definately are the pinnacle of detroit muscle. They look like a fast mean fish.

Torque boxes?    I'll take as much info including pix as possible.

I think they look SINISTER! A neighbor annoyance... the bain of cops.... sex on wheels....  was the latter too graphic? Sorry if I offended anyone! I just think its the coolest looking/sounding car ever made. And someday I hope its my honor and privilege to own one! I'm working on it, and with the help of the forum, my dream could be just around the corner.

Thank you! Its been so informative so far! I'm going to look for The Car and give it a good shot.  A '71 that I could upgrade will always be Plan B.   48 hours ago I didn't know there was a Plan B!
