Yup. I have the tail panel and the rear valance with cut outs. I'm going to be ordering the 71 Ralley wheels with 71 style centers and rings too. I have to get 71 bumper brackets too. I have a 70-71 front bumper and 72 bumper brackets so the inside holes don't line up.
I need new bumpers too because my chrome is looking a little old.
Pulled the rear valance this morning so I could temporarily put on the new one. The old one was so Mickey Moused that there/'s no way I can get the new one on without the new quarters.
I guess the car is going to be rear valanceless for a couple of weeks.

Got my front and rear marker kit last night, along with my headlight buckets. Unfortunately the markers don't come with lenses, so I'll be ordering them from Roseville.
When you buy a kit you'd think it would come with everything, but I guess not. I may return them and order the complete kit from Roseville.
I got my 6 pack baseplate for the shaker, still waiting on a few other parts from Roseville, and then I can order more stuff.
I'm going to be putting my name on the list for a 71 grille while I'm talking to them.

My car is ready to head off to the body guy as soon as I get hold of a truck down here. I had a friend stop by yesterday trying to convince me to use his body guy who will only charge me 1000 bucks :roflsmiley: to do all the metal work, at the same time he was telling me that his front valance must be the wrong one because the 70 valance isn't fitting properly on his 73. For another 1000 the guy will even paint it. I've seen the paint on my buddys 73 and it's not bad for a splash and sell paint job, but it's nothing  I would take out in public myself. I tried to tell him nicely that I wasn't interested but he kept insisting. I finally had to tell him that I already put down a 3000 dollar deposit. I'll get more pics before and after I get the car on the trailer.
Just got my headlight splash shields, valance insert and valance marker lights. I still don't have the 6 pak air cleaner cover, but I'm not too worried about it yet. It just means another call to Roseville that will probably result in ordering more parts.

Next step is completed now, got a truck. I've been looking for a few months and finally found one today. 2008 Ram 1500 SLT Big Horn 4x4, 4 door with a Hemi. I have an 06 up in Canada but a fat lot of good it does me down here. If anyone in the Calgary area is interested or knows anyone that's interested in a low mile 2006 Ram 1500 let me know. I already have a trailer lined up for the Cuda and I pick up the truck on Saturday or Monday, depending on when the payment goes onto the credit card.

Haven't got much done on the Cuda since I switched the front sheet metal. I spent the last 2 weeks hunting for a truck so I can trailer the car to my body guy.

The wife is calling in 'sick' today, so I probably won't be getting anything done today. I plan on spending most of next week stripping the interior out and pulling the engine/trans and hope to have it on the trailer by next weekend. I ordered a new dash pad yesterday and got my name on the list for the Metro 71 grille. Next order is probably going to be wiring and 15 inch wheels/caps/rings

Just ordered my rim kit from Roseville so I can have 15s like the big kids. Those guys are great to work with and I recommend them again to anyone looking for bits and pieces.

I haven't got much done on the car recently due to painting the house, but I did get the hood off and most of the interior ripped out. I still have the dash and roof liner to get out, pull the engine, trans and fuel tank, but then I can actually get it loaded on my trailer and off to my body guy

06 Daytona-
That’s one heck of project you’ve begun; reality is, it’s a program, not a project.  Projects get completed, programs are never ending.  :grinyes:

FWIW, I really like the Cuda as she was.  In the ’72 sheet metal and sassy green, she looked good.

Can you please do use a favor and report back on the quality of the ’71 front fenders?  There’s several of us, myself included, that will be ordering AMD ’71 Cuda fenders with (with the gill cut outs).  Reading your inputs, your car (as well as mine) isn’t properly square.  Such is life – I’m 48 and I’m not properly square anymore, too.  :sly:

So, aside from the cars special stance – how’s the fit and the rest of the metal?  Will your body man have a lot of work to do on the actual fender?

Sorry if these come off as naive questions… but they are.  I can do mechanical work, paint & body, well, that’s an art and takes talent.  I don’t have talent.  :'(

Looking forward to watching your program’s progression,
Ron

The passenger fender fit really well with a nice gap between the door and fender . It's goodmark, but I'm really happy with it. The drivers fender fit as well as the original did, so I guess it fit properly.

Second Cody's advice. Get it in writing.

Thanks to Chryco Psycho (Neil) who came to visit for about a week, the engine, trans and dash are finally out of the car and it's ready to head off to my body guy. I got it loaded on the trailer today, so all that's left is to load up my sheet metal and head off to the rain forest.

We only ended up working on the car for a day, but the amount of knowledge that I acquired while he was here is just amazing.

The wife and I dropped the car off at the body guy yesterday along with all the parts I've acquired over the last year. He's going to start on it either today or tomorrow and I'll be stopping in to help and take pics a few times per week. The yard looks pretty barren without the Cuda sitting in the driveway, but maybe now I can get back to working on the Charger.

:working: Looking good; I read you are taking the car to El Yunke rain forest. Is the body guy's name Renee?
If it is I have seen his work first hand and he does great work; he did a 71 440-6 cuda in Sassy Grass Green for a guy from San Juan and it came out beautiful, this was back in 2002. I used to run into Renee at Centro Pintula in Luquillo once in awhile and talk with him about cars we were working on.
