I took a trip out to visit the Cuda yesterday. There's been quite a bit of progress since the last trip. The back end is all welded up now and he's working on the drivers side roof rail now. He told me both sides were pretty bad, but the passenger side was worse.

He showed me how little bondo was needed after he finished the metal work on the passenger side and he said it's going to be about the same on the drivers side. He was rebuilding the engine out of his Challenger when I went to see him so I didn't get to see him doing any of the work. This weekend there's a huge show at one of the malls, so I'm hoping to get there and get some pics of the cars down here.

Sorry if the pics are big or blurry. It's a new phone and I'm not used to it yet.

I missed getting alot of pics of the structural work he did. Inside the rocks under the quarter windows were pretty bad, but he got them looking brand new, along with a few other spots that I wouldn't have a clue how to fix. I'm amazed with what he's doing, considering he works in a leaky garage in his back yard.
My engine guy told me that one of the fenders on my body guys Challenger was so bad that anyone else would have thrown it out but he took it as a challenge and it looks fantastic. If I didn't have the Challenger to play with right now I would probably be out at the Cuda once or twice a week taking pics and generally being a pain.

Just found your post and read all 6 pages.  I love your ideas and the progress.  Your body man does outstanding work.  :2thumbs:
I'm anxious to see it completed.

I made another trip to see the Cuda earlier this week and took a bunch more pics. Some of them are probably doubles of earlier pics, but I think the car is looking pretty good, so I keep taking pics.

First time I have seen this topic.

Looks great!  That car sure did have alot of rust under all that bondo.
Looked good in the beginning pictures but you sure did uncover some rust.

I'm off to see the Cuda today. I hear that the back end is all finished and it's in rough primer. I'm still waiting for a passenger door skin but he should have quite a bit of the front end finished up now too.
The bonus to this trip is that I'm getting rid of a set of 440 exhaust manifolds that I've been tripping over in my garage since I brought the 440 home.

Coming along nicely! One tip though, before you  prime the trunk again, I don't see enough welds on your gas tank and trunk supports.
A full tank with 16-18 gallons sloshing around, puts a lot of strain on those welds. I think that I welded mine every 1.5 inches, both sides.

The car is off to the frame machine tomorrow. It looks like my left frame rail is dropping at the front and causing a big gap at the top of the fender. My front leaf mount on the passenger side is smacked up too, so that's getting fixed up as well. I'll get some  pics when it's getting stretched if I remember.

I am still astounded at the amount of rust that was on that car.
That pile is 1/3 of the car!   :22yikes:
