Challenger fender differences.

The only differences that come to mind are

70 has a different side marker than 71-74
72-74 could have the provision (holes) for the faux fender scoop

Other than that I cannot think of any differences and have swapped a lot of fenders around over the years. Not saying that there isn't any other differences but I cannot think of any.

In addition to the marker light differences, the 70 and 71 have mounting panels in them for the headlights and the 72-74's don't.

Would the 70 and 71 Challengers headlight mounting panels mean they would have less room for the headlamps as compared to the 72 - 74s? I'm looking at installing Dapper 575 projector lights in a 74 and there seems to be a difference in the available headlight space for different year Challengers.

I don't think there'd be a large difference. After all, they still had to mount 4 bulbs in the same area and the headlight mounting buckets and retaining rings are all the same. But, with a 72-74 car the fibreglass header rather limits the available space. I have heard of people mounting LED lights in both models, so it's likely possible. Sorry, best I can do.

Yeah it's definitely possible. The weird thing is some people say they have installed these lights in a Challenger without modifying the sheet metal while others claim otherwise. Be nice to know before spending the $400 on the lights since I'm not crazy about cutting a hole for them.

I believe you're right, people have installed a/m lights and I seem to recall that it's doable. You may have to clearance the buckets some and I think you have to change the pigtail/socket, but that's not a huge task either. Call the manufacturer if possible or the vendor, perhaps they can shed more light on the subject?
