If you had v-code dream car waiting to be restored, would you return it to it's original color?  as you can tell, i'm really not sold on the burnt orange

Are you building to keep?  Or sell?  If you're going to sell it restore it to stock to retain maximum value.  If you want to keep it then restore it to whatever level of correctness you want then paint it your color of choice.  If you really dislike the burnt orange you may not enjoy the car as much as you would otherwise.  If plans change and you need to sell, it's only the color thats incorrect.  It will hurt the value, but depending on what you paint it it may not affect it all that much.

If you ever are going to sell it, the value will be greatly reduced by a color change.
I have a friend who bought a nice '70 Roadrunner convertible last year that had been FK5 with a burnt orange interior, but someone had repainted it FJ5 with black.  He got the car for under 30K, and I'm sure it would have brought over 35K if the color hadn't been changed.  He curses the previous owner who changed the color but doesn't want to spend 10K to change it back.
I was no fan of FK5 when I got my convertible, but I really have grown fond of it.  I now have a dark autumn bronze '71 to keep it company, and I wouldn't trade either car for an identical version in a high impact color.  In fact, I was at a show last weekend with the convertible and several people complimented me on the color, and how nice it was to see an unusual Mopar color when half the other cars at the show were either purple, red, or bright green.
If I didn't already have my B5 '09 R/T, I'd go for a toxic orange 11!

THanks all for the input.

The only color sample I have is the underside (after removing the tar coating) and the inside of the truck lid since it had be repainted dark blue.

There are no pictures on this forum when searching burnt orange.. it would be nice to see some e-body examples, anyone?

I don't have a picture of my convertible at work, and I have a picture of a real nice FK5 V code R/T at home too.
I have a picture of a FK5 cuda convertible at home too, don't recall if I have any hardtops.  I'll try to post a few later.
When I was a sophmore in high school, I recall there was a guy around my town who had a FK5 cuda.  I'd see him driving around alot but never saw it up close, it was a sharp car, seeing it was one thing that ingrained the passion for ebodies into my young impressionable mind I am sure.

How about if I buy a purple V-code and trade it for your burnt orange one?

I agree with the others.  Go back with the original color.  That color is gorgeous.  When the sun hits it, the color really comes out.  If you do a Google search you will find some really nice Burnt Orange Challengers.  Put Burnt Orange Challenger in the Google search box.  I went to Google and found a gorgeous 70 Challenger Convertible with the Burnt Orange paint.  It looks great.
Many years ago my husband had a 70 T/A Challenger that was Burnt Orange.  Everyone loved the color.

I purchased my Gran Coupe Deep Burnt Orange Metallic in 2008.

I liked the color combination and price.

Would prefer a Double red or a black exterior and red interior w, red hockey stick.
The second from last picture was how it looked before the previous owner stripped
parts for cash.
How it would look if back to original
I switched 14 in mag rims for 15 in Rallye

I read somewhere that there were 3 Burnt Oranges available for a while in 1970.
Burnt Orange Metallic, Medium Burnt Orange Metallic and Deep  Burnt Orange Metallic.

Anyone know anything about this?

BTW, Burnt Orange is a great colour, unusual but not showy.
