Hey Bart,
that's a Coleman Racing 1.5:1 quickener, same as the one in the Hotchkis E-Max challenger.
The people who have reviewed the E-Max have always commented on its 'magical steering', so I look forward to seeing how it feels!

Boy!!,.. it is sure turning out great and I love the column mod. That cuda will have to be the star in the phansasm remake if it is ever done.

thanks brad!  so there is more to a 'quickener' than just a bracket.  that's where i was getting confused.  I am sure it will all make sense to me when aaron posts more pictures of it!

Not sure how I missed this thread so far, guess I haven't been on here much lately. Incredible work Aaron! Awesome fabrication and welding. Hopefully I'll finally have my own challenger coming apart soon so I can work on some of my own modifications.

Oh, and the steering quickner changes the final ratio through the steering box. Stock manual steering is 24:1, the AAR and TA stuff was 16:1. A 1.5:1 quickner turns a 24:1 box into a 16:1 final ratio. You can also order 20:1 worm gears from Mancini to replace the stockers, but the only way to get 16:1 anymore is to buy a brand new flaming river box, or add a quickner.

Hey!
Yeah things have been pretty slow on the car lately.
Holidays, work etc...

I've decided to do a bit more to the car than I was planning (again).
So I'll be replacing the roof, quarters, and dutchman panel.
Also planning on hydroboost, KRC pump, power steering cooler, and some other new things that I need to find the money for.

What do you guys think about replacing the roof and quarters with the body on the rotisserie?
I'm thinking that with the roll bar (tied into the upper seat belt mount on the C pillar) and related bracing, the shell should be stiff enough.

It's the area from the fenderwells to the back of the car (where the rotisserie would be holding it) with no quarters on, that I would worry about.  :2cents:  :cheers:

Hey Aaron, leave it on the rotisserie, but build some saw horses or stands to hold the bodies weight level and straight until you get the quarters and roof turret back on it buddy, then you can spin it on the rotisserie as much as you want :2thumbs:
