Awesome work! I plan on doing similar stuff to my Barracuda when I tear it apart. Likely it'll be out of D.O.M, but making it is half the fun!

Here's part of todays work:

Inner fender bracing.
I wanted maximum clearance for the front tires, so I decided to replace the flimsy factory brace as opposed to adding additional bracing underneath.

Also added a cross brace for the radiator frame.

All together this work has added a huge amount of rigidity to the front. You can easily tell by yanking on things before
and after. And still lots more reinforcing to go...   she's going to be rigid!

Nice work on the fender brace! :2thumbs:  I did the same design for subframe connectors only in the holes I welded in tubing. That made a big difference in resisting twisting! I clamped the end of it in my vise on the mill before and after and tried twisting it with a big adjustage wrench. I really noticed a difference after the tubing was welded in! :grinyes:
In your case if you did that it would also keep road debris from getting inside the square tubing causing corrosion?

Cheers!
I remembered reading about your connectors with the holes in them. I thought of welding tube into these braces, but decided it's unnecessary, as they aren't subjected to twisting forces like the subframe connectors. I rust proofed the inside of them too, although perhaps it'd be a good idea to run strips of vinyl over the holes to stop crap getting in...

Finished nearly all the welding up front. Both fender braces are in, all seams have been stitch welded, and the shock towers have been fully
welded and gusseted. Next is reinforcing the rear chassis rails and roof.

Hey Aaron I did the stitch welding on just  about every seam I could see and am amazed how much just that really stiffened things up especially the floor. Nice work! Those cowl brackets plates you made are brilliant. I would have used those over the xv one I bought any day.
