Newbie from Finland
« on: May 28, 2011 - 08:00:46 AM »
Hi!

I have been a member a while, but finally had some effort to introduce myself and my e-body...

I found my cuda last year January from ebay, located New Jersey, I was looking a while for a driveably project, 71 was more desirable, but there was no good candidates on market that time and I almost close a deal for one ´70 cuda, but by chance I won the auction of this 1971.
I wanted to have project, and matching numbers was not ideal, cause my plan was/is to built something like a pro touring type car. 1971 cuda have been my "dreamcar" since I watch Phantasm-movie at the eighties, which had this black 71 on it.

So I finally get the car to Finland at April 2010, first I thought to fix all major problems and get it registered and taxed, but situation get out of hands and after some days the body was on pieces. I fixed all rust spots, sandblasted and primed the body, renew actually all chassis and suspension stuff with stiffer Firm Feel products, interrior is all new exept dash pad, engine is still 340 but 5.7 hemi and 5-speed is waiting for next winter. Front fenders still on primer, but now I can go to MOT and drive a little bit at this summer.

The problem is that I am serving at Afghanistan and been home maybe 10 weeks after purchasing the car, so its like overhauling in 10 weeks allmost complete :burnout:

This is a good forum to read and helpfull info available when needed, thanks for that to all and

Nice summertime to everybody!!!

BR,
Jousi

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.
