As some of you know I'm off to a slow start this year. Rotator surg and the fact that weather has been ablsolute $hit! Ok so todays gonna be a nice day. 80's and sunny, a perfect day to go for a romp! I'm out in the garage early trying to tie up loose ends from last season.
Swapped out oil sender (again) gauge still reads really high. Could my gauge be bad??? Is there a way to test it...
Swapped out voltage reg (again) thought I had this problem fixed guess not! Constantly reads on the second line on the charge side, but not on initial start up. Gotta drive her for a few mins. Wires look good (harness was updated at one point in time). Really good ground, dielectric grease on contacts.
Played with the secondary throtle plates (again) have had a bog issure a hard launch. Found out the secondarys were all the way closed. Got that as good as its gonna be - its better (I belive this carb wasn't set right the day I bought her). Float adj good /pump shot good. Jets?
Ok so its noonish we are gona cruz! I will deal with the crap later! We take a ride to go find a Charger I've held title on since 04. Stop a a pub for a break. End up talking with a guy who's got a 71 or 2 440 Charger there. We talk MOPARS, fire up to listen to each others rides go back in for a brew, all good.
On the way back home as i let off the gas for a stop sign the wife says, you got a lifter going bad?? WHAT?
? Now I'm a little hard of hearing and NIKKI"S a little loud.... But sure as Shucks, I had to "tune in" but as you let off of the gas to approach a stop you can hear just ever so little bit of what sounds like rocker arm clatter.
I quit!
