Challenger w/ shaker hood
« on: June 03, 2011 - 11:36:00 PM »
Just thought I would share a few pics of a Challenger that belongs to a friend of mine. He just got the shaker hood installed, and added the inferno red at the same time. I think it looks pretty good.

I think I like the hood, but I do not like the two-tone paint...
I would like to see this installation on a solid color car.

:iagree: i also think a cold air intake would do the same thing for alot less and i have seen a few shaker set ups on the new challenger and i just dont like it as much as i do on the old ones it just looks a bit small to me

:dunno:  :clueless:  Wow you guys are tough.
Its a new school for the next generation to enjoy.
Good looking Challenger. Different and its a nce ride, clone of the 70's.
Both of my 70 e-bodies rattle, constant tuning, repairing.
When I first saw the 70  e-Bodies in the seventies I thought they were circus cars all the weird
colors.

Wow, guess we just got booted from the "New Generation" lol
40 and time to retire .... out to pasture ....

It is a "copy" of the "original"  I just expect it to do more justice.

You should hear my opinion of the new four-door Charger compared to the original   :horse:

Well..........everyone has their own opinion.   You are paying for the car so you should make it your own.  This fellow did and I like the hood.......small looking or not but agree that if red all over instead of 2-tone.......it would look better.

Two-toned paint seems to have wrong break lines on this one. Agree the shakers are too far back and small on these hoods, tho Cervinis is close, Suncoast is the WORST tho! AFR has a true shaker that plumbs directly into TB and is LITTLE more forward than Cervini. My problem is that ALL the glass hoods are quite wavey on this long hood, so guess if I EVER change hoods, gonna get Ma Mopars T/A hood, nice smooth skin!

I don't think anyone here is being hateful, and I am aware that someone is showing off what they are quite proud of. But when you put it out here and it it not a factory original (sometimes even then) you are going to get feedback, and it is not always back patting and thumbs up.  The fact is, most find it odd looking and are pointing out when they are not keen on.

I find these discussions to be quite informative.  We find out who makes good parts, bad parts, why it looks odd, how to make it look, feel, or work better.

I would not take anything said here personal, just take it as opinions (and are we full of them) and suggestions.  As long as you are happy, Brother you have done well.   :2thumbs:

My 2 pennies worth.   :2cents:

I'm not sold on the shaker hood, but that's because I compare it to something from 1970. I don't know if the new Challenger hoods are long enough to pull it off.

As for the color scheme going on there, I have to say I like it. It's just something different, but nicely done.
