Hood Scoop Insert
« on: June 05, 2011 - 12:10:34 AM »
Wife took the car to a show today. Still hadn't fixed the stripped insert and the scoop insert fell out somewhere. Need a driver's side insert for 71-74 Cuda.

Let me know...

Let me take a look around here. I know a few people with bits and pieces laying around. Worst case scenario if you can't find one, I can sell you the one from my Cuda.
1972 Cuda 340 4 barrel 4 speed that looks like a 71
2006 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona
2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel 4X4
2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible (Kidmobile)
1972 Dodge Charger 318 auto
1970 Challenger 440/727 auto
1973 Plymouth Duster 340/auto (Making it Panther Pink for the wife)
2006 Honda Civic Hybrid (It doesn't save gas, it just diverts it to the Cuda/Challenger)
In desperate need of more property for my growing Mopar family

Brooks, did you ever track one down? I've got a spare BUT shipping from Canada could be a problem.  Canada Post is the cheapest ($8.35) but who know when it'll get there. They're on rotating strikes right now and best case lately has been 3 to 4 weeks. Then I checked with Purulator and their best price was $25.64. Let me know if you got one, if not, and you're interested maybe we can work something out. After all, you did help me out once. Oh yeh, I can throw in a couple of the mounting nutserts too.

I'm heading down to Carlisle? If Brooks is to ( I think he is?) I can take it down for him/you? If you can get it to me? I'm just north of you in Barrie?  :dunno:

Jaybee, how much do you need for the insert?

Brad, if you could bring it to Carlisle, that would be awesome!

Brooks, I have no idea how to get it to Brad. If Brad has an idea that will work I'm all ears. I'm thinking maybe $12.00 for the insert and  2 nutserts (do you need the special screws too).

If it can't get into Brads hands cheap enough then what do you think about me using Purulator and you just cover ONLY the shipping. Oh, sorry but it's not black it's white so you'll have to paint it.

Jay, if you can't get it to Brad, Puralator is fine.  Thank you very much!

Hey Brooks, you're very welcome, just my little way of "Paying it Forward". I'll wait until the weekend to hear if Brad has a workable solution. If not, I'll send it out on Monday. Please PM me your address anyway. BTW, you didn't say if you needed the special screws; their heads are smaller, but you probably alresdy knew that.

Brad - PM sent

Brooks - Waiting to hear from Brad as to if he's crossing at Buffalo and, if yes, what time that would be. Our homes are over a 4 hour round trip apart (St. Catharines & Barrie), gas would be a killer. Canada Post is still too questionable. Still waiting for your address and if you need the screws as well.
