You could also build a booth and media blast recommend getting a sand blast cabinet for smaller parts. You may want to use a sander but dont use too heavy a grit.

Thank you for helping me out with the guied i want to ask you a little more questions about media and sand blasting and soda blasting. Would i have to do all three of these on the car or only one if so which one is better. You also mentioned sandblast cabinet for small part i wanted to know like what small parts are you talking about. I was also going to do this im my home garage does it have to have low tempetures or hot will be ok? Also about the car risserate where is the best place to buy one for and how much do they run for? Im sorry about all these questions I Just want everything to be perfect and want to know what im getting into. Thanks

welcome - and good luck on the challenger .  by vin # is this a 383 car ? i see a flat hood with dodge emblem at front center , non rallye dash and it looks like its a single outside mirror car (most , again i say most as there were many configurations done by chrysler corp) most single ouside mirror (oval mirror) cars were either 6 cyl or hemi cars . also are those v8 emblems on the front fenders ? if it was a single outside mirror , do you have it ? and what condition ? my car was an assembly "mistake" was ordered with the 426 and came to the selling dealer with the 440 , all other markings are hemi , single mirror , dana 4:10 etc ... thats why the original owner only owned it for 6 months (he was pissed off and ordered a hemi roadrunner and sold the r/t)  of course i may be wrong on the other markings on your ride , as said , chrysler had many combinations . i would think a flat hood , non r/t , non rallye dash , single outside mirror , 4 speed car would be very rare . again , im also a newbie here , but it looks like a good site to gain the needed info for your challenger build , building these cars are not for the faint of heart (or pocketbook)  good luck , and enjoy the hell out of your new e-body .

L code 383's did not come with a 4 speed (sorry).  I think they were autos only.  Maybe a 3 speed was available.  Do you have a fender tag? Is your motor original?  If so what color is it, was it, from the factory.

in 1970 dodge offered a "deputy challenger" , most were flat hood (but had the side indents in the hood) , there were 6 - 383 models built , 3 with auto and 3 with 4 speeds ! these cars had stationary rear side windows .

I went to register the car in my name and they told me last thing they had on record is that this car was stolen in1980 but since this has Ben over 30 years it ok and now it on my name will this reflect on the value on the car

There was an article or post about a guy who got his stolen Challenger back after it had "legally" changed hands many times.  Before you put a ton of money in the car, be sure to get documentation that the car can not be return to the original owner or insurance company.

Looks like a really cool project!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
