Can you bring pets with you to the show?
« on: June 11, 2011 - 10:19:59 PM »
We want to bring our german shepherd on the trip with us but I don't know if they would let us take her to the show. We really don't want to leave her in the room all day.

I found this on Carlisle's site :  PETS

Pets are strongly discouraged for health and safety reasons. If you cannot make other arrangements for boarding, your pet must be on a leash, and policing after them is required. Your pet must be under your control at all times and you are fully responsible for its actions. Any offensive or unsafe actions by your pet may result in expulsion from the fairgrounds without refund.

OK. We'll probably just leave her at the house. I'd love to have her there, but it's not that big of a deal.

No, she is a very well trained dog. I really wanted to bring her but I think it would be best to leave her at home.

We took our dog , years ago, to a show here called "parts-a-rama".  It is in july I think and all I remember is how HOT it was and how miserable the dog was and therefore us.

Think about it....do you really want to drag your pet through miles of walking in and out of parts displays etc?

Not to mention the evil eye you will get from car owners when your pet gets just a little too close or gets frisky around their car?

There are people who have their (big) dogs with them at local cruises and frankly I dont think its appropriate.

The pets arent enjoying walking on hot asphalt or gravel all day.

Remember, this is in the middle of summer, high 80s  to mid 90s and usally humid. Dogs have alot of hair on them, there body temp. is also higher then ours. walk around carlisle with a winter coat, and this is how your dog feels.

Todd, we moved up here from Texas. She was mostly an outside dog in Texas. I'm sure she'd be OK in Pennsylvania. We're not bringing her though. I think it's best to leave her at home. We just like to take her places because she loves to meet people and explore things.
