Brief hi-jack, Scott, is that your fuel filter between the pass side seat mount brackets? If not, what is it? :clueless:

Black round thing???  yes it is an Aeromotive 12303 SS-Series 40-micron filter and the red line is my return line not a battery cable  :22yikes:

:smilielol: I thought the red line was a positive cable from a trunk mounted battery!   :faint:

You guys (with the smilies and the quotes) crack me up  :smilielol:
But I love it  :bananasmi

Well I did a temp fit of the exhaust and as it looks right now, I won't have to make additional bends and such. I will have to cut off additional pipe but that "might" be it.
I hope I'm right. I just pieced together the front exhaust (slipped into the header) and the cross section and they seemed to fit under the cross member pretty good clearance wise. But didn't fit the rest to the rear of the car. I was just playin around for a short bit (too  :hyper: hot to stay out too long in the high temps.  :faint:)
Anyway, I got a couple pics and will post tomorrow (Wednesday) and hopefully you all will see or notice the same thing or something I am overlooking. Like I said, it's just a temp thing to see how it goes together.

Thanks for everything (even the small highjack ),

Okay, here is a few pics.
Nothing special by any means.
Pics are from the drivers side but the passenger side looks pretty much the same.
The pipes are slid into the headers about an inch or so and the x pipe is supported by a jack.
Again, it's just a temp (loose) fit but so far it's looking to fit without major surgery... so far.

Tom

P.S. sorry for the crappy looking undercarriage. One day I'll have the funds to clean her up right but right now, I just want to drive her.

One caution the Magnaflow people kept repeating was "you have to build this system from the back to the front."

I never talked to the Magnaflow people, but that is what I ended up doing. Got everything supported in the general area where it went and then started hanging things from the rear end first.

Thank you and yes, I did read that. I was just checking the header spacing with the front half but yes, for the real test I need to attach the rear pipes and work up.

Thanks again,
Tom

The Pypes people say the same thing. If I knew that the Magnaflow system would match up directly to my headers without any custom pipes made I would have gone with them and saved $85.00 at the muffler shop.

The only customizing I needed was to flare the pipes that went over the header collectors. I did that at home with a wrench-operated pipe stretcher. Otherwise I would have had to take those two pipes to a shop for that.

That's encouraging to know as I hope I'm in the same boat (just flaring pipes). I plan to set up the complete exhaust (starting from the rear  :)) this weekend and see if any excess has to be cut first and then have it flared at a muffler shop.
Thanks Milkmann,

I know some may think this is just too easy but I want it done right and lookin good and everyone here is "great" on providing info, their experience and support.
Thanks so much!!!

When you are hanging your exhaust, remember that Mother Mopar put the engines in our cars off-center. I was going crazy trying to make the pipes line up with both of the header-to-x-pipes the same length.

As soon as my pea brain realized that this was where the exhaust had to transition from not-centered to centered it became much clearer. The connecting pipes had to be cut different, the bend is in a different spot on each side, that is what it took to get the x-pipe hanging directly under the driveshaft.

Good luck with your project!!

Milkmann, that is so right and would not have thought about that.
Thank you for that info and for the good luck.
This is why I love this forum!!! :ylsuper:

Well, I guess ymmv, but the magnaflow system DIDNT match up to my headers directly....needed to cutom bend the font pipes.

And the shop said the lengths were a little off on everything and they were skeptical about the provided clamps holding well, so they welded it all in. Makes for a nice solid system....I am just screwed if I ever need to remove it....LOL

Depending on the brand of headers, the collectors are in different places...I would think
