I have the 2 1/2" maganflow system on my car . Love it! You will love the sound!  It assembles OK, you will need to "cut and paste/weld" to get it hooked up to the headers though. I had to fab up a couple pipes to get the correct bends. I bought a couplestainless mandrel bent 90's to make it all work out.

How do you know what size to go with?

Glad I could help! I forgot to mention if you have to have a pipe bent ask first if they are setup to make mandrel type bends. The shop I used didn`t so the pipes look a little chocked on the bends and it isn`t  as pretty as a mandrel bent pipe but my exhaust sounds and works fine.

I had a 3" system on another car and the "drone" at a certain RPM drove me nuts! I don't have that with the 2 1/2" system? :2cents:

Thanks Brad and dodgeboys,
I really appreciate the input of what you had and now have and the difference.
dodgeboys,
Thanks for posting those pics!!! :2thumbs:
It sure helps a guy out in knowing what to expect and look for.
They showed up this evening and couldn't help but put them together. Gotta love stainless steel  :bananasmi
Here is a couple pics.
Also, I purchased a header reducer kit (3" to 2 1/2") and the reducer is the same size as the magnaflow pipes and does not slide into the exhaust pipe. Is there a coupling or are they supposed to be the exact same size and welded together? Got them from AutoZone. Was that a mistake?

Thanks again everyone. Input is very valueable to many of us. :worshippy

Here is a pic of the zig-zag I was talking about in a previous post. Sounds similar to barrracudadan.

Seems to me they should have a large end on them to accept the next pipe or collector. :clueless: My Pypes system is similar to yours and had large ends there. If you have to have something made up like in my drawing I posted earlier  take these pipes along and have the shop flare them out too. Just make the custom piece extra long so you can line everything up and cut off the extra when you have it where you want it.

You can butt it to the collector and weld it. Me personally I would rather slip it over the collector then weld it just seems easier to do it that way.

Thanks Brad,
I'm hoping to piece it together and temp install this weekend just to fire it up. (I want to hear it growl)  :droolingbounce:

And Scott, thanks for posting the pic. Gives me a better idea of what Dan mentioned earlier.

I'm with you Dan. I too would rather slip the collector over the pipe and will do what you suggested.

Small block Olds, but I don't think the engine sizes matters does it?  :dunno:

Brief hi-jack, Scott, is that your fuel filter between the pass side seat mount brackets? If not, what is it? :clueless:
