if the bog is immediate even with mild throttle the bigger squirter will make a difference , as suggested a better cam profile can help too , ifyouhave a pink cam with 3 holes they are lazy at initial opening , a white or black is better

have you checked fuel pressure ? what is it ? im assumeing that the carb was operateing before but is old ? remove the secondary accelerator pump diaphram (very carefully ) look for cracks / holes broken spring ( if so replace ) . sounds like fuel isnt getting there at the top . hope you figure it out

I got a call from the speedshop today- my squirts came in. So after phy therapy tonite NIKKI and me had a little business to take care of. I was to lazy/tired to take the carb off so I cut up a rag... you know the rest. Anyway I installed a 31. Doing this on-car really requires a steady hand and a fine machinist needle nose. I had one of the two! Knocked the whole dam thing down the carb the first time..  :grinno:  But did get it handled on the second.  :cooldancing:  This is probly really easy if you dont have a choke.

Now it was test drive time. I get her warmed up to have a fair comparison.  I give her a few mouthsfull.  :burnout: A BIG improvement!!  I say shes 80-85% better. She went from a hesitaion so bad you had to let off and get back in it, to maybe a half second bog.  :clapping:

I put het to bed for the nite ,shes way to hot for me to belly over a radiator now. But tomorrow we try 35's!!!   :working:

ok now... got the 35's in tonite. I must have perfected my techniqe cause they were in in about 5 minutes.   Got her warmed up, took her out and gave her a few hard blasts. She screams loud, the front end picks up nicely and ol BIGS smiled.... for a little while anyway.  Now I've got a different issue.. In normal traffic lets say  yr rollin along at 25 and you just want a little to get up to 30. Now I've got a bog there  :banghead: I'm NO TUNER thats for sure, so where do I go next ?
Thanks
BIGS

possibly too much fuel added for mild accel now , do you have a set of cams ?
now you may want the pink 3 hole cam in position 1 to keep the added fuel to a minimum , could also be a timing stumble , or the power valve opening up too easily , where is the engine vacuum & power valve rating at , if they ae too close it could be opening too easily
