Reproduction 71 Cuda Grilles

I'm excited to see what they look like in person at Carlisle!  The cost he was talking about a few months ago was reasonable.

They were put on ebay prematurely about a month ago along with the cheese graters. The price at that time was $1,200 for the grille and $200 for the graters. I emailed the guy that had them posted and he said there was a snag and had to pull them but said they would be out again this summer.
Now that's what the guy told me.
I hope the price holds true to what they were a month ago.
Since I'm on a budget, it would be nice.
It's got my attention.

Edit: if I remember right, he said they were injection molded.

Cant be much more than that. How come these havent been produced? There is definitely a market for them. Heck, they could produce a very similar one that would fit the new challengers and sell hundreds of those easily.
I know its a complex piece, and I understand its all in the volume, but it cant cost THAT much.

Depends were the mold is built. I used to build molds for   die cast aluminum tranny housing s at just over 1 million a pop. Plastic injection is more as the tolerances are tighter. That's a big mold too for a grill.

Well $1200 without the graters and chrome isn't a bad deal if it's made well, which is what this is (from what I saw a few weeks ago).
But I like the lower $900 myself.

I have a decent grille for my car with the normal cracks and a small piece missiing. But for $900 I would rather buy new and sell my original.

If someone is making the grill and they are up for public sale at the prices mentioned earler, I'll apologize then to the maker:  But I'd like to see them for sale formally, like on a website or a posting, with listed and formally qouted prices, how to order, etc.  Like I said, this topic has come up before with someone stating they were making them.  But they didnt come thru   

I'm all about a person making them:  Even more so me buying one at a reasonable price thats a quality build   

I'll even say, if one in a production line becomes actually for sale, and its a quality piece, (I'm not talking about factory stamps, numbers, etc.  I really dont care for that):  Just good in quality in both material and fit and it goes for $900 or less without the trimpieces, Ill be the first guy to buy. 

I'll stand behind my word, and I'll also offer to post post pics as I unpack it and the steps as I install it.  All of it and give an unbiased opinion.  If the producer wants to sell, again, in a production line, not a one off, Im offering to buy one now ( as long as it meets what I have previously stated in this posting) and install it on my '71.   For the seller, just PM me and prove within reason that some are available for sale as I stated and Ill make my end happen.   Trust me when I say if its a quality and availble product at a reasoble price, Ill be your biggest fan and spokes person.  I'm all for the market having 71 Grill source available to the public

I hate to bring my doubt up like this, but its happend before:  Some guys have even gotten ripped off by a person that stated they were making them in the past  on Ebay:  Not saying the current individual is like the past guy by any means.  I would just like to see one actualy sold thats in a production line at a reasonable cost
