Dave, and anyone else who bought one:
On a scale of 1 to 10, your honest opinion; how do these new grilles compare to a OEM grille?
Items to consider:
Improvements, Material, Durometer of plastic, Trim, Molding errors/variations. fitment.
what i can tell you,
on the second prototype i test fitted the trim , rings and inserts, for metro. I had NOS trim and the OE trim fit this grille, one the repo 6 C trim they where a tad long like a 32nd that needed to be removed from the ends, but the conture and fitment was good, it was missing the little bar in the latch area that all oe broken grille exhibit, this was fixed for the final run. which was missing from the grille i gave metro to copy,
Material of the grille is ABS gray plastic and it pretty sturdy, trim is nice and bright, the grille is missing the cap nuts that retain the head lamp rings. have not tried to assemble this final production run as Metro has done all of that already. but will when i get a chance, Only thing i have not done is put this next to an OEM grille and compared side by side, Again time issue.
If you have one of these grilles I have the cap nuts for the rings and the mounting hardware to install the grille.
All in all, for the money even if this grille has issues it is still better than an old grille.
