Vent Cable question

I searched around and couldn't find this answered any place else. I'm sure the answer is simple and obvious but rather than take a chance and screw something up I decided to ask here first:
I am trying to replace one of the vent cables on my non-AC 74. It all looks pretty simple but there is a cap on the end of the arm I am not sure how to remove.
I circled it in the attached image.

If I remember right I used pliers from above, squeezed gently so not to crush the cap, and rotated. The cap came off fairly easily.

Just use pliers and rip it off. They are kinda a one time use item. My local hardware store has them in all the automotive sizes and just replace it with a new one. Maybe a 40 cent item at best.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
