The GoPro3's mic is horrible for car filming.  I have an external mic on order :)

So fast the trees bend when they get close to the car...man those hood scoops are powerful!

It's in "Wide" mode for that video which does that, I'm still experimenting with it.  Speaking of experimenting, the mic showed up today and I did a quick test after work of various locations.  I probably should have tired it in the actual engine bay but I couldn't find a long enough cord (got one now).

Here's a quick video:
Sound Test

I think in the car with the window open actually sounded the best which was kinda surprising to me.

Was the g-pro mounted on the roof or inside the car?

High up on the windshield outside the car. Vinyl roof isn't the best for the suction cup mount

Did you use some kind of safety strap as well? or just trust the suction cup? I'd be worried about it flying off.

I use some fishing line :)  The camera itself isn't all that heavy.  The suction cup is supposedly rated to 200mph or something equally silly, but I do always keep the line attached.

Some photos of the camera attached

Window high mount, good for shot of the hood and the road:

Door Mount, good for getting shots of the wheel while cornering

Cool vid!! I just drove mine on roads just like that out in Battleground Washington. Had to take my dad for his 1st ride in her since I dropped the 440 4-speed in.  :burnout: The side camera view was pretty neat.   :jumping:

I also took advantage of the sale of wipers on Rockauto.  The new wipers are black (powder coated? painted?) and not stainless like the ones on the car.

I ended up just swapping the rubber parts from the new wipers to the old ones.

Other than that I've just been playing with the GoPro and the mic trying to get it situated.  I also need to adjust the shocks some and see what it does to the ride feel.  I think there is a rattle in the exhaust system somewhere.  Probably just something loose, I'll have to crawl under there and take a look next week.

I think NAPA still sells the correct inserts.  I should buy a couple pairs to keep on hand.  They won't be making them forever.

I haven't had much time to work on the car the past few weeks....which sucks because the weather was nice.  I had a little time today so I tried out my new Fat Gecko mount with the GoPro.

Rear Tire:

Passenger Seat:

Back Seat

Long Side:

You might be seeing some of these in future videos!
