Here's a cheap starting point. Shipping could be a deal killer though since this isn't a roller.

This has been discussed in NUMEROUS other post.  Either way, go with want you have always dreamed about.  IMO there are more Dodges, than Plymouth out there.  The 'Cudas also cost more too.

True, you can always buy one, and upgrade to another.  Same goes for the year.
If I could afford, I would pick-up a cuda shell and work on collecting my parts, while I spend my major efforts on the challenger.

Both cars are well liked over many other Mopars that are cooler in their own rights...
However, it is my belief that the only reason these cars are as well liked is the fact they resemble the '67- '69 Camaro,[ the Cuda more so than the Challenger] that came out three years before...

My choice is the Challenger. Everybody and their brother have a 1970-74 Hemi cloned Cuda..

Well Cuda's are more expensive then challengers  and  the 1971 model is the most expensive because  of the one year only pieces.I would tell you to start out with a 72-74 cuda or challenger and work your way up to the 70-71 cuda if that is really what you want.Just a suggestion.

As in many other things in life.. want and wallet are two different things. Michele's suggestion makes most sense.   :grinyes:

I really wanted a Cuda but anything under 25k seemed like it needed a lot of work.

Ended up with a nice Challenger and  am happy. Basically any E body car in my book is a great buy.

they made more challengers than the barracuda's by almost twice as much...thats 1 reason the barracuda command's more $$.or so they use to.they r both cool..nothing like a white dodge challenger(vanishing point)..

but one thing is certain,,if u get a car that needs restoration prepare to dig deep into the bank account for either one...hemi clones r everyware..it doesnt make any sense $$$$$ anymore to drop a hemi into either one because the markets flooded with them..i could have bought a hemi with my 71 cuda shell,,but for 12000.00 nooo..400.00 steel crank junkyard 440 was a no brainer..it would not have returned the $ over the 440-6..soo,,there both great just dont expect to find one at the local junk yard anymore..central calif..

Maybe around where you live, but then again, we aren't dealing soley with where YOU live now are we...BS statement or not, you know as well as I that there's at least 5 HEMI Cuda clones for every two HEMI Challenger clones...You knew WTF I meant there, don't start a war here.

unless it's a real hemi car, these hemi clones are basically peacocks that like to show off their feathers.

for what a hemi costs, i can drop the same amount of money into a 440 and have twice the HP of the hemi.

give me a 440 any day !

and for those who are gonna respond with "yea but it's a hemi", please read my first sentence again
