Challenger Trunk Lid
« on: June 29, 2011 - 01:28:14 PM »
I thought all trunk lids were the same ....

My 72 Trunk had a Go-wing on it, before I bought it.  The previous owner sold it...leaving me with 4 holes of silicone.

My wife is talking about wanting to put a go-wing on hers, and since I don't I told her we could switch lids to keep from having to drill holes.

I popped both last night and noticed, there is an oval cutout on mine, but hers does not have cutouts. (where the bolt holes go)

What's up ... history facts knowledge?

I believe there are at least 4 different designs.  All the differences have to do with the understructure.  I believe it goes something like this....

1.  Late 69- early 70 had luggage rack holes only.
2.  Early-mid 1970 had luggage rack and pedistal spoiler holes.
3.  Mid 1970-71 with luggage/pedistal spoiler and T/A spoiler holes
4.  72-74 no holes.

(please correct me if I'm wrong)
