« on: June 30, 2011 - 12:46:41 AM »
i just got this car home , and was upset about its condition. I am thinking of either selling it or trading it for different 1970-1974 cuda. its pretty rare not many convertibles made in 1968, has original motor, and top. here are a few pictures. please let me know if you have something to trade preferably 1970-1974 cuda. if not i think i may just keep the car. thanks Mel

well people of the Mopar community. Please let me explain this recent transaction now. This car was originally on E-bay, it sold with in a day for 2500, i contacted the seller and explained my interest. He then told me his sell fell through and the car was still available. I did research saw that the car was very rare that they did not build many convertibles in 1968. I asked him questions like are the frame rails good? he said yes. turns out they are bad. I do think the car has the original 318 motor in it, that the car has never been touched besides a paint job, close to original color. heres where it gets bad, we agreed on 2300, i have given him 1900. i drive up to Wisconsin, load the car and get it home. Now i review the title that was sent to me, then numbers do not match, But it says it is a 1968 plymouth convertible, yellow in color. here are the numbers

title reads PH27G8D141700

THIS IS WHAT CAR READS -BH27F8B134847

PLEASE do what you can to help me figure out what this title is to. I am considering going to the Police at this point. I am very let down

What i have now is a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda convertible with rusty frame, and wrong title for 1,900.00. In these tough times, i feel very worked over.
thanks Mel

Tell him you want your money back + travel expenses, or you will go to cops.

That should wake him up.

i decoded the vins just now, the vin in dash says its a 318 made in MI  the one on title says its a 383 made right by me here in rockford,il  at belvidere plant. why would these farmers give me a title to such a rare car, with the wrong car?
