Greetings all! I said it was a teaser not a pleaser....yet.  :nono:

I really dont know where to begin. I'll try to keep it so it makes sense.
The first issue is WHY????  Why is every time I go to look at a CHARGER the owner has to be  :screwy:  :screwy:  :screwy:  When I bought my GTX they were normal people, when I got my Dart GTS again normal people. When I got NIKKI ect ect ect. I dont get it.  :clueless:  :banghead:

Let me tell you a little about the car. 70 Charger 500 N code car, not an R/T. The owner added the stripe years ago.  Now with a 69 440/6 & HEMI 4speed. Been owned by the same guy for 30 years, and not driven in 20. Needs quarters/rear valance/trunk floor/cabin floor. But basically its all there, just needs some luv and $$$. To get'er done. No fender tag or buildsheet that I or the owner is aware of.

I spent most of my afternoon TRYING to close the deal. I was high offer, I was CASH offer, I even upped my offer $500 to get the job done YESTERDAY! Have you ever seen the show hoarders? Where people really have a hard time making a decision?
It took 3 phone calls just to get him to decide to give me the address to see it. I just told him I was on the way so lets go.

This guys a 6 maybe 7 years younger than me. Lives with mom who's 81 (if I could have dealt with her the job would have been done!). Very nice very coherent lady.

No money/no job, if mom dies I think he'll be living under a bridge or something. I'll give a few exerps of the conversation...

ya I'll sell it to you and help you get it running

ya its my mom and dads anniversary today but may dads been dead for 4 years . He had 8 DWI's but he was a great guy.

my brothers wife looked on line and the cars worth 120K

i got to cut the grass

when I sell it to you can I keep the wheels

i just feel so much pressure

when i sell it to you I dont want my brother around. Hes an ok guy but I just dont want him around.

you know if I had some money i could get my life going again.

have you ever been sued?

It went on and on and on and on. I tried to be a nice guy, but i only have so much time. I offered CASH today (yesterday) but its just not going to happen.

I think you get the idea here, this went on and on and on and repeat! So ol BIGS is asking you ... please send some vibes to this guy to take my money!!!!!  I'd probably would still be there talking with him if I could have kept my sanity that long.  But I will go back........

I'll put up more pics later...
70 Chally R/T Convertible- Yes she's really got a HEMI, no she's not a Charger!

I have been trying to purchase any 65-70 charger over the last ten years.
Every one I come across, the owner is crazy.
I don't understand the charger thing.
Seriously, everyone I have found sounds just like this deal right here.
I know of at least ten sitting in my county.  None run, they all just sit.
Offer cash, noone wants it.  Too much pressure and memories.

I hope you can get this one.  Just remember not to over spend as it doesn't have that fender tag or build sheet.
20 years of not running has done it's toll to the car.

Good luck!!  Thanks for the rest of the story.

Ron, you are not kidding my friend! The more I think about it the more aggravated I get. We also had the conversation (about 6 times) that the longer it sits the more rotten it gets, the less its worth. He would say to me at least when you buy it I know it will get taken care of.
If you want to sell lets go,if you dont tell me to get screwed and go away. He seemed happy it would go to a guy with other old Dodges. The term MOPAR did not come out of his mouth.  :banghead:  :pullinghair:  :stomp: :swear: Why is it always Charger guys? I can relate to "cuda hunters post 110% ... my gawd if they saw this post on DC I'd be banned.  :grinyes:
The beer starts now I gotta wash this outa my head!!!

Bigs,
We can relate to your problem too.  When we found our 71 440-6bbl Cuda the guy that had it said it was ours and to send a deposit. The next day he calls us and told us he had a guy that wanted to trade him a 1970 GTO Judge Convertible that needed to be restored.  We told him if he took the trade offer he would be sorry becuase the guy with the GTO also wanted him to throw in his 440-6 1970 Challenger too.  To make a long story short the guy with the Cuda said he was going to do the trade so we thought oh well if he wants to be stupid that is his problem.  By the weekend we get a call from the Cuda seller and he said he changed his mind and we could come get the car.  We thought we better hurry and go get the car before he changed his mind again.  My husband restored the Cuda and it turned out gorgeous.
I hope you get the Charger.  Hang in there.

Yea exactly, don't know if I ever told you that I talked to the owner Dennis. It was him and his wife's first new car. Will not part with it, his boy is gonna fix it up he says. I have met his boy, and he is not the shapest tool in the shed. He would have trouble peeling a potato with a pearing knife, let alone doing anything remotely mechanical. I will stay on this, but it is gonna be a tough one. Guy has money, so it's not like he has to sell to stay afloat or anything. Plus the guy is tight as heck, they are the type of people that would'nt let you borrow used toilet paper. Eventually that barn is gonna fall down, it is not in great shape. I know him pretty well, so I will stay on him about it. I know how Bigs feels though.
