No...it's just taking me time to get the pics posted.  Body & paint have been done for over a year now...I have to get working on the drive train.  Need motivation, and wanted to share the progress to-date.

When I had them done, they were done in bulk with parts from a few friends cars as well, and I believe the whole lot was around $200.  I remember my share was really affordable (under $100), but I don't remember the exact amount.

This is one I struggle with....   It's so much easier to paint the hood, fender, deck lid and doors off the car BUT how do you put them on with paint bolts and not mar the crap out of the painted bolts?

I like the factory look of painted bolts, but painting the bolts in place is the only way to get that look?  What does everyone else do?

Paint the bolts separately (stuck through a piece of cardboard), install using sockets with nylon inserts, and touch up any chips.  It works well.

That's what I've been doing, but the paint always seems to crack on the bolts.  Since I do clear coat / base coats it's a real hassle to paint and real clear the bolts.  I've been taping them off and paint / clearing them on the car.  What a huge time waste, but it looks perfect.

What socket are you using that doesn't mess the bolts up?

Not sure of the brand...I believe many Auto paint supply places have them.  I'll see if I can find more info for you.

etch prime the bolts with a thin wash primer before assembly, then paint the bolts with a touch up brush after assembly. a tip if using basecoat/ clearcoat paint, just add some hardener to the basecoat before brushing it on. it will take alot longer to dry, but will add gloss to the basecoat eliminating the need to clear. this also works well if color matching fender welt.
