well, the motor is out. that Lakewood bell housing is a real pain in the ass.
i had to unbolt the motor mounts from the block just to get it out.

 check out the clutch

help,  :banghead: i've hit a brick wall. haven't done much lately but order new main and rod bearings.

i wanna paint the engine over but that crappy rattle can paint just keeps coming off. any suggestions?

i used eastwood's engine paint on the 340 in my '72, that seems to be holding up well. anyone use POR15 engine paint?

Yes I have used the POR 15 engine paint. If you use their paint prep stuff along with it, it works well. Many years later it still looks good. Just wear gloves when you use the POR 15 paint. You don't want that stuff getting on you because it takes some time to wear off. It takes two coats, but it soothes out as it dries. it looks like it was sprayed on in the end.

got a little more done even though i've been real busy lately. i tried a new coating for the headers.
you've herd of por-15, ever hear of por-20 ? yea, i thought the same thing.  :clueless: but it's their
hi-temp like 1400* aluminum coating. we'll see what happens this time.  :eek4: i've tried just about
all the hi-temp paints out there (that i know of) and nothing seems to work very well. even eastwood's
stuff. just not ready to spend the $ $ $ $ for TTI headers or to jet-hot my headers.
