Please rate your hotel!!!

I waited way too long to book our reservation this year (I know, I suck...) and not living in the area anymore, it's kinda hard to scope out new places...

So I'm recruiting YOU to help me book our rooms for next year!

We need a hotel with ample, safe, lit, and preferably remote parking (so we can all sit around at night, order pizzas and drink bee.... sodas...
We need a complimentary (preferably HOT) breakfast.
We need an in-room refrigerator!!  (Since I bring food to cook on Saturday, I need a place to keep it cold until then.)
We would LIKE to have a pool
And we really need sub-$100 prices.  I'd say $75-$90 a night, preferred...

So if your hotel met this conditions and you enjoyed your stay (rooms were clean, nice features, *cough cough front desk clerks spoke english cough cough*) then please let me know where you stayed and if possible, a phone number.  I'll take it from there.  :)

Thanks!

I like the hotel so far but it is a little higher in price then a lot of club members are paying. The rooms are very nice and clean but the parking lot is not realy trailer friendly. The other issue that is not as good is there is no place to walk to for the Thursday night diner. We are heading to the Appalachian Brewing Company with 4Cruizin and ViperMan.

Well, it aint fancy where we are....Rodeway inn in Shippensburg.....

But its clean enough, quiet and the (Indian) clerks were very nice and didnt balk at my request for extra pillows, etc.

Continental breakfast but in my experience those are usually pretty lame..will see what this one's is like...

No pool, but truth be told we wouldnt have time to use it anyways.....since most hotel pools close at like 10....at least the ones I have been to.

Best part - $197 for 3 nights with tax etc.....

Parking lot wise, not much in the way of party spots.

But if you are just looking for a decent room, not bad.

I stayed at the Courtyard but here`s my  :2cents:. i`d like to be a little closer and rte 11 seems to be where all the stores, restaurants, gas stations etc. are and it`s a straight shot to Carlisle so that would be very convenient. The fridge was nice but the rest of the ammenities are were not used by us as we basically only and hung out at night slept there, too busy to even use the pool.the courtyard was very nice and the people were great but I am all for something less expensive. Thanks for setting it up.   :2thumbs:

Days Inn in New Cumberland. More than a 1/2 drive (and I didn't wait too long to book; don't know why I wasn't finding any deals). About a half hour drive, maybe 40 mins. People were OK; hotel was a dump.

Yep, stayed there. It seemed pretty new, so everything was clean. Has an indoor pool. Hallways were not air conditioned, but the room A/C worked well and did not make any weird noises. (last year's motel A/C was clunky... at the place right next to I-81 on 11). Bed did NOT give me a back ache and that is rare! Friendly staff, lots of pillows, room was cleaned daily. Good water pressure.

Breakfast looked very basic, tiny coffee cups.

Roomy parking lots with space for trailers. A hop & skip to the cruise-night, about 20 minutes to the fairgrounds. Easy access to 11, 81, food, etc.

2 nights was a tad under $200 after taxes. I think it was $75 for Thurs. and 90-ish for Friday with a AAA discount.

Jeff, we liked your pick. You've heard that line if momma aint happy nobodys happy. Well she liked it just fine.
The place was clean/comfortable/the beds did NOT aggravate my sciatica!/fridge/microwave/shower usable by taller folks (I hate a shower that I have to squat under!/the rooms were quiet/nice people/would I have felt comfortable with NIKKI out in the parking lot all night, hell yes! Just the piece of mind would be worth it to me.

Could it have been closer/cheaper sure. If we can get the same level of hotel next time.

Yes we DID stay there but...  :2cents:

For me security for my car is #1 , clean, price and location to the fairgrounds are next.... :dunno: :2cents:
This may sound "wrong/ politically uncorrect" but it's been my experiance that motels owned/run by folks from other countries are usually not so clean/well maintained?  :2cents:

Won't get any argument from me!!

I liked the Mariott for sure, but truth is it's a lot to pay for the fact that you don't spend much time there.  That Ramada Limited sounds pretty good.  We might be back that way in a few months (we've caught word of a restaurant in Harrisburg called "Dodge City" and we're thinking of a new Saturday night dinner place for next year!)

I'll see what I can learn and we'll look at that place for next year.

Ramada Limited review

We have stayed here 3 out of the last 4 years.
I paid $303 for 3 nights with taxes and AAA discount.  Online they also offer a prepay with no refunds or cancelations for around $275.  Thursday night is cheaper than Friday and Saturday.

Indians run it.  They speak good English and were polite.
We partied hard in the parking lot every night till 1am with no complaints or problems.  Friday was the biggest party night with about 40 people in 3 groups.  Beer distributer is 5 minutes away.  Wegmans (for 6 packs is also 5 minutes away)

10 minute drive from the cruise night to the hotel

Easy drive to fairgrounds down 81.

A small Viper club with trailers stay there every year.  (I should have never told Viperman this)

Parking gets full on Friday night.  But never did we not find a spot.  Room for some trailers.  Some spots back up to the lawn so you could always back a trailer up on the lawn if needed.  Hotel is right off of route 114, 3 minutes south of I-81.  The side street it is located on is a commercial office park.  It's very quiet around the hotel.  No traffic or visitors.  I felt safe parking my car there.

Probably a 15 minute walk or 3 minute drive to the first shopping center.

Indoor pool and hot tub which were clean.

New AC units in most of the rooms.  New comforters, sheets and pillows.  Rooms were clean.  No complaints from our group.

Continental breakfast.  The only thing hot was coffee and make your own waffles.
