Bought my Cuda when I had just turned 18 in 1982. I'm one of the few that kept that first car!  Little did I know!

How about a '61 Studebaker pickup?  My dad gave it to me "officially" when I was 14....The '69 Charger rustbucket was bought at age 15.  My '73 Challenger was bought when I was 17.

I have truly lead a deprived life when it comes to cars!  When I turned 16, I got my moms' disgustingly green (pukish) chevy malibu stationwagon (I think it was a '75).  I'm just beginning to recover from it.

1978 Pontiac Limited Edition Grand AM  (Only 800 special ordered)  4 Speed Automatic  V8  -- 301 (I think)   Quadrajet 4 BL carb.    0-120 Mph in about 15 seconds (usually just as I was getting on I-95 in South Florida -- Suspension got tighter when over 80 Mph -- Ahhh, yes- I lost my license with this one.

1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster 216 C.I. 6 popper.  16 years old.

Interesting features:

Vacume assist shifting ( 3 on the tree )
No bottom end oiling, had oil slingers to pick up oil from the pan.
Starter button on floor.
Spring loaded bumpers ( Ramming speed Mr. Sulu  ;D )

Drving school had only /6 darts and Dusters then drove my parents `69 Chevy station wagon with a 396,horrible off the line but once it got going it surprised my muscle cars!Learned a clutch on my dads /6 3 spd Duster and finally bought my first car at 17.It was a `68 Chevelle originally a 396 4spd car but when I got it it had a measly 307/powerglide but still looked and sounded pretty good.

Ripe old age of 13, 1966 Ford Galaxy 500 fitted with a 69 302 4v & FMX auto. I cut & pitched wood that summer with some hillbilly's down the street & convinced my parents to let my buy this car "to learn on". Paid $200 & spend countless hours in the Hillbilly's garage learning how to do engine swaps & general maintenance. Car got scrapped 2 years later when I got my 1970 Charger 500 but the education was worth a-hell-of-a-lot-more than the $200 I paid for it  :dogpile:
