'73 340 'Cuda, summer of '83. Paid $1500 for it. Almost had a '70 Hemi 'Cuda for $6,800(might of been a clone?) but dad wouldn't loan me the extra cash. "No car that old is worth that."..................................
I have showed him the rising prices for Hemi's (real and clones) ever since. Even the 2 million dollar one.(look on his face was priceless)
Oh, was 17 and headed into my senior year of H.S.
Also spent the next 2 years within a point of losing my license.
Dad really hated that car.  :spank:

Yeah, when 17 years old I started (back in 1988) with '73 Toyota 1600cc, added WRC rallye car turbo in it, dynoed 450hp @ 7700rpm and it was freakin' fast. bought my Chally back in 98 from Arizona where it had sat next to barn in veeeery dry condition from 1984. It had 29000 original miles on it, original 383 4sp R/T...
Dementia already from the year...mmmm ???

13 bought a 1977 Warlock 4X4, actually wish I still had it. 360 auto, was a great truck and I have only ever seen 1 other in 4WD.  Looked for a Chally but couldn't find one when 16 so got a Dart Sport340 convertriple. Found my Challenger when was 17 74 360 rallye car but had a 440 with 2 4's.. Great High School car.

*just realized, you can see the Warlock behind the Challenger*

I was 16 in '93 and I got a four door 86' Mercury Topaz that my brother had as his first car.  He ramped it off of a 6' incline dukes of hazzard style and broke the motor mounts and oil pan.  A couple months later I found an ad and my parents helped me buy a F8 green w/ white vinly top '70 charger.  Originally it had a HP383 and 727 but someone had repainted it dark green and put in a 440.  In '96 Tom Wopat was in town to perform at a telethon and I got a pic of him next to my car.  I sold it for only $3,000 when I moved to Florida in '99.  I curse that day!!!!!  :madvibe:

My first was a 69 dart 4 door.  It had a 170 slant six (101 hp) and a 3 spd on the tree.  It had only 60K on it and those quarter panels were perfect.  I got the car when I was 17 in 2002.  It was the most rust free car I could afford at the time.  My dad said it would be a good car to get to learn how to work on cars and it was.  He said it was also better off to start with a humble car and then move up.  I just wonder how many people in 2002 learned how to drive stick with a 3 spd ont he column lol.
Too many projects and nothing gets done.

I bought my first car when I was 16 in 1987 for $1200.  It was a 1968 charger with a 440mag (not original eng).  Drove it about a month and had a bad accident.  Spent the next 4 months getting a new front end and sheet metal for it.  Then I went to college for the next 5 to 6 years and left it sit in a barn.  It is still there next to my 2 1970 challengers.  This is the year i will finally start to play with them.  my problem is do I work on my charger or a challenger??????

1984 I was 15.  I use to ride my bike threw this mobile home park" short cut" on the way to school in Arizona. This retired couple had this 1970 rt/se challenger 440-6 4-speed  that just sat there and never moved. The old guys name was Willy.I told him I want that car he said when you get your lic. come see me kido! Well, when I got my lic. the very next day I went there and Willy said where's the lic. kido?
I flipped the fresh plastic lic. at him and he said well looks like I owe you a car kido!
Long story short I bought the car for $1200.00
It needed tires,clutch,tune-up. It only had 22,000 miles on it :eekbig:

Old Willy was great guy :worship: and he was the one that got me hooked on Mopars

I wish I had run into an Old Willy when I was younger.  Think there are any more out there?

Well, there are old guys with cars here, but they are the "I'm gonna fix them up, someday" type.
