Seems like a thread like this starts up every couple years, and with the new members around it's a good topic for us to reflect upon and wonder, at least for some, why we did what we did, lol. My first was a 52 chevy 2dr., with the torpedo back, 6 banger with 3 speed column shift, I was 16 aand the year was1962. Actually I wouldn't mind having it back (I'm sure it was crushed long long ago), it would make a great custom street rod, you know lowered, channeled, etc, pop in a blown small block...............? Actually I'd rather invest that kind of money in a MOPAR !

67 Cuda fastback, 273 2-barrel.

Body looked like it was used for target practice, but I put a carb pot on and she would howl at full throttle.

Good car to sneak buddies into the drive-in, if they were small enough they could drop the trunk panel and roll into the back so you didn't have to open the trunk.

I'd have one now if I didn't already have the 72.

1966 Ford F100 truck.
I bought it with a dead engine in 1980 when I was 16, from an older friend. I did a cheap rebuild, then spun a main bearing a few months later.
I swapped a 390 from an LTD wagon...I didn't expect it to be as fast as it was, but I wasn't complaining! ;D

I still own it.
It burned a couple valves when they finally took away our leaded gas around 1989.
I parked it, then started taking it apart one winter, with plans of fixing it's little rust problems & rebuilding the engine...little did I know that raising my family would take so much money.

Now, I'm finally getting close to being able to fix it up...along with my Charger.

Got my license at 14, and had a 57 Chevy Bel-Air. I was 16 when I did my first build car, a 64 Malibu I got from a salvage yard with no motor, tranny, seats, hood, grill or front bumper. I sure learned a lot with that car, and blew the doors off a few others in the process! :grinyes:

First car was at 16. Bought a 1980 honda civic hatchback 4spd for $50 bucks with a bunch of friends  to beat the crap out of in the woods, Cut the muffler off and mounted a big fog light to the roof and spray painted it like the side of a crackhead ally ways graffiti. had alot of fun in that car until the cv joint broke when we hit a ciderblock in a huge mud hole at 50mph +. Got one from an 80's crx and grinded it to fix (actually worked! ) then the catalyic convertor  got clogged so we smashed her up pretty good  That was the last honda i ever had
