I looked around forever for a silicone rubber pan gasket that had the steel inserts in it to prevent over tightening too but couldn't find one( dime a dozen for SBC) , so I settled for Milodon pan gaskets, I needed 2 as I also installed the Milodon windage tray.

I hear ya on the broke aspect!  :grinyes: I've dropped 17k into my new drivetrain.... motor, tranny, new dana.
I sure hope the wife never see's this!  :eek4:  :lol:  I sold 2 other cars to finance it, sure feels funny looking down at a pile of parts and thinking "this is my 455 Buick and 55 Chevy?"   :eek7:

So Brad, you had to sell your Chevy too? here is my all original 1962 Biscayne, ordered by my Family back in late 1961. I had to let her go to a guy that owned 3 of em. This is an 62k mile car with no rust, 99% original. I was gonna build it with a straight axle, injected hemi, Dana. Piss of the gm gassers with a MoPar powered brick! LOL

OK, I got the Milodon Pro-Touring Pan, Barton fel-Pro gasket, 1/2 pickup. Now I have to remove the 3 &4 main studs to rempove the old pick-up then install the Milodon piece.(The main studs prevent the last few threads).

Thanks Brad, even though I am 100% MoPar, I remember my Pops and his sister,(My Aunt), driving us kids in the mid 60's down the country roads. It hurt a bunch to let that car go. My Dad is gone but my Aunt is still alive, she's 94. She wasnt happy to hear it go, but I had to..no where to keep it out of the weather. It went to a good home. It had 62K miles on it. Never driven in the rain or snow.

Thanks 440STRKR!!  I got the Milodon Pro-Touring Oil pan on but I couldnt use the windage tray. Simply no clearance with one. Here is a pic.

pan is on there!  I now have to figure out if the TTI or Dougs headers in 1 7/8 or possibly 2" will clear the oil temp. sending unit?  If it doesnt I'll plug it and move on. Anyone know offhand? Thanks guys,,,,Eddie

FYI test fit it in your k-frame. I had to cut the motor mount gussets in 2 places to fit that pan. No biggie, just good to know before you install.

Thanks a bunch Brad! I am fortunate to have this info!!!  Oh yeah, you are correct about the skid plate sway bar issue. I might have to wuss out and go with a 1" or a bit larger when it comes time to order the bar from Dick Ross, OR I may just cut that plate off and get the right bar for my chassis/suspension,, Ive come this far hate to 1/2 Azz it and I can cut/ weld it back on no problem.

I go with a 1 1/4" hollow sway bar from Hotchkis or PST?  ... but then again I'm a bit of a weight freak? :grinyes:

Stripping the floor pans. The previous owner must have used the lowest cost paint, it simply flaked off with my finger nails! I am going to either use "lizard skin' coating or Rust Bullet and Dyna mat  either way I want the NutBucket to be protected against corrosion because they use a liberal amount of salt and other liquid types of metal killers on our roads anytime it falls below 35 degrees! I also have to cut out the transmission tunnel when the LGT SS 700 5-speeder becomes available from Keisler.

Interior floor pans done, inside and bottom side. I used rust bullet then gloss white, the underside will recieve a final thick coat of asphaltic tar based undercoating. No more work till spring. Out of money

probably too late now but what about using a crank scraper at least inside the pan ?
