:woohoo:  Ordered a 451 kit today from Muscle Motors. I was sitting on the fence between a 451 or 470 but it's a done deal now. I also added to the order Cometic gaskets, ARP head studs and main studs, and T&D roller rockers.
I'll drive down and pick it all up in 3-4 weeks ! :2thumbs:   Can't wait!

thats awesome, I am currently on the fence myself about the 451 or 470, but I will probably buy it as a short block from muscle motors too.

You know you can use your RB distributor in a B block with a spacer like this:

http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/rbtobbldiad.html

I figure if Mancini sells them they must be OK to use.

Well moving along slowly gathering parts. I bought a new carb. It's a Quick Fuel # Q-850 AN
Also just bought a Hyd roller cam and lifters Lunati #60312 cam. and matching the beehive spring kit.
Neil set me up with the Milodon road race oil pan, Alan set me up with a Milodon gear drive! :2thumbs:
Hopefully any day now Muscle Motors will have my kit ready!
Heads are finally getting worked on this week.
Found a new in the box Mallory fuel pump in the garage I forgot I had!

Today was a great day!  :woohoo:  Got up at 3:30 AM and with a rental car drove 6 1/2 hours to muscle motors and picked up my stroker kit. While we ( Darcy my buddy that came to Carlisle came along for the ride too) were " in the neighbourhood" dropped off my dash pad core to Dave at Roseville. Had a great time there! Dave gave us the grand tour, even set us up with Roseville t-shirts! Sure was great to finally meet Dave! He is a class act for sure! :2thumbs: Kinda glad Roseville is somewhat far away for me as I'd be like a kid in a candy store at that place! It's like a little Mopar heaven!    Then we drove over to Mancini racing just to have a look around! I was kinda surprised somewhat at the size of the facilities at Mancini's and Muscle Motors. I somehow expected it to be bigger than it was. Not that it matters, great suppliers just the same!  On a side note... I was surprised at how fast folks seem to drive in MI.  Seems like almost every vehicle had " battle damage" around there? Bumpers pushed in, quarter panels wrinkled? Kinda reminded me of the speedway I work at!  :grinyes:
They seem to drive " by ear" around there!  :smilielol:

All in all ... a fantastic day!  I'll post some pictures soon.... too tired tonight!

Brad, sorry to hear about you having to let your Buick go. The 87 GN was the very first brand new car I ever bought. I owned it about 10-11 years and foolishly got rid of it. Have you looked into Gear Vendors? or better yet, SMR Transmissions sells a "shorty" set up using a gear vendors chuck, and it only adds 7 inches to overall length to a 727. 6 speed Auto! (I have a regular Gear Vendors I am putting in my Challenger). This thread is great! I have a 400 block with the extra casting meat on it being sonic checked for a stroker build for my car as well. Want to go hyd. roller like you did. Road_Runner beat me to the punch on the dizzy spacer. Good luck!
{oo/-------\oo} In '69 I was twenty-one and I called the road my own. I don't know when that road turned into the road I'm on. Jackson Browne

Ya I owned my Buick for over 12 years too. Loved the car but when I got what I had always really wanted ( 70 Challenger) somehow I lost interest in it and never drove it much. SMR is just down the road from my house ( about 20 minutes) they are just too pricey for me. Quality stuff but to me the GM tranny has to many positives over Mopar auto OD stuff.( I know some of the purists will spit on me for that one! ) I'm not sold on the gear vendors stuff never seen one of driven in a car with one. I'm not big on adding weight to the car either.

You need to come on down to Atlanta and do a few laps on I285 around the city.  We've perfected the whole bump drafting thing in street cars & semis (half serious).  Enjoying the thread and looking forward to future updates.  I'm either going to stroke a 400 or my original 383.  If I go with the 383 I'm leaning to a longer stroke though since the 440 crank will only give me 431 cubes at .030 over.
