Congrats on your brake conversion, what a difference, eh? As for go, unless you're bling deficient, take the 6 pack dough ($2000+) and sink it in a set of better heads- RHS or Edelbrock, an Air Gap dual plane intake, a decent cam (lots of good advice threads already here), headers and a 650-750 carb. That'll give you enough grunt to lose your licence fairly easily.
