Good books for chassis modifications?
« on: July 15, 2011 - 05:17:22 PM »
I've been doing a ton of reading about these cars. And I need to find one on chassis/suspension modifications. Anybody got some good suggestions?

The basics would begin with the the Mopar Chassis book which actually is very in depth and will cover almost anything you want to know. Beyond that it depends on what you want to do with the car. For Drag racing I'd suggest Door Slammers by Dave Morgan. For handling applications I'd suggest either the Mopar book Oval Track Modifications or hte older and harder to find Mopar Suspension by Mike Martin.  For more info beyond that, I'd go to the Steve Smith Autosports library and pick up Building The Pro Stock/ Late Model Sportsman. While chevy focused for stock car racing, it has a lot of great theory and tuning information that is applicable to any vehicle.

Thanks. That's really what I'm looking for is something that explains the theorys involved, not just "cut this here, weld this here". Thanks for the advice!
