My Cross Country Carlisle trip 2011 (pics mostly not cars)
« on: July 17, 2011 - 12:37:37 AM »
My wife and I made 2011 our first Carlisle visit after many years of talking about it.  Very glad we went as the Friends, Cars and Swap Meet was better than we had imaged.  Since most everything has been said about the trip in other threads, I'll share some photos of our adventure.  You can see more on my facebook page....

I will have to do this again next year.  The event is not to be missed!  There are so many people I want to thank for making this a great event.  I still have one bottle of the famous Hemi beer too!  It was GREAT!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

On the drive home we were able to stop by and see David at Roseville Dodge in Detroit, MI.  IT was AWESOME!  David brought out an original 71 grille and we got to compare it to the Metro re-popped.  There is some differences, but nothing that can't be fixed.

Great pics mate. Jealous is an understatement.

Would love to make it there one year.

SO how many of the parts were actually needed and not just bargains that couldn't be passed on?

A few bargains, but mostly needs.  I had a pretty big list of parts I needed hit the swap meet hard for 3 days.  Wish I had more time to see the show.

I'm thinking about buying a new van next year somewhere near PA so I can fill it with parts and drive back.   :bananasmi

Nice pix. Looks like you fit a lot of sight seeing in as well as the Carlisle show. You fit a lot of parts in your vehicle!
We went to the Black Hills last year. Fun place. Did you see the live show in Saloon #10 of Wild Bill getting shot?

Saw the shoot out and had a drink at the new Saloon too.  The town was kinda slow because it was a Wednesday, but still a lot of fun.

It's an International MXT.  A one year only model from International.
