Hi,
I joined up because I was planning to ask a question about wiper motor park switches, but it seems I got lucky and things are working again after wrestling with the cams a bit. I don't know how it got messed up but it hadn't worked right in the time I have owned it until tonight. I now have wipers that work, vary in speed, and park at least for now.
I currently have 2 Barracudas, altogether I have owned 3 and 1 'Cuda. The one I am working on and driving at the moment is a 71 In-Violet Convertible, 318 Slap-stick, with a white top and interior. It has a factory cassette recorder/player (I have the original microphone as well) but it is missing the radio. It is no cherry show car but is a beautiful machine. I need to find some rear seat belts for it and fix the heat and A/C someday. The heater isn't hooked up, I assume from the look of it that the control valve leaks. The AC is missing some wires to the presure switch on the receiver/drier so I haven't tried to get it working yet. I also need a new convertible top boot, some of the clips are broken and I ripped the vinyl trying to stretch the shrunken old thing into place. I used to know where to get a new one but I forgot who it was, maybe Year One? The car has been off the road for a couple of years until just last week, and it needs some very minor body/paint work to show better. It needs quite a bit more work to be 100%. I just recently decided to spend some time with it and drive it for a while.
My other Barracuda is a 72 B5 blue car that was a 318 3-spd car when I bought it many years ago. It now has a 340 six-pack and a pistol-grip 4 speed behind it. It was a fairly radical ride when I was driving it. I have it stored in my shop waiting for its turn to rumble again. I gave up trying to get it to pass the stupid Colorado emissions test (hate government and environmental lunacy), and just took it out once in a while for some 1/4 mile runs. I never got the six-pack working to its potential, I still hope to get that dialed in better some day. I missed an opportunity to get it registered when there was no emissions test, but the job situation kept me from doing it and now the stupid test is back and eeven uglier. I might tone it down a bit and street it again someday.
I don't have hardly any pictures of my cars, I should take more. The one I will post here is of the 71 when the paint was a little nicer and my best friend was still alive to guard the car and was allowed to slobber on the console on a hot day. You can guess from my user name what another of my cars is.
