Does anyone know a sure way to tell the diffrent bodies apart when it's just a frame. Also does anyone have a picture of each body they could put up?

If the VINs are intact the Barracuda's start with a B and the challengers a J.  You can see this thread for potential locations:

The challenger has a longer wheel base of 110 inches vs 108 for the barracuda.

No quarters or anything? Unless it's just for parts, I'd pass.

Huge differences between the two.

don't have pics though.

Should be very easy with a little study to tell an A apart from an E.

Got pics?

Are these questions for reference or are you looking at possible donors/projects?

If you can't tell what it is, that would be a horrendously expensive project. I would recommend buying one that is at least identifiable.  :2cents:

What's your budget?  If you buy a $1500 beater, you'll have $5000 into it fixing things that a $4500 car would've had. The old legends of finding a project car and getting it back on the road with nothing but sweat and $150 in parts are just that, legends.

I'm looking for a cheap beater. To work on over the years. Body work I can do but I need a cheap car to work on long term over a more expensive car now

I would look for an Abody then.  I had a 67 Barracuda notchback with a 340 4 speed.  It originally was a 6 cyl. 3 speed car.  It was one of the most fun cars I ever have had.  I would buy another one if the opportunity presented itself.

I agree.  You said cheap beater.  I am starting to see more Ebodies sell in the 4-6 thousand range.  You still have to put 2 or more thousand into them to make them into anything.  Believe me parts add up quick.  Unless you get an Ebody for almost nothing, you are better off right now buying one that is in at least in running condition.  When you say cheap, how much money are you speaking of?
