Newb wanting 1970 challenger
« on: July 25, 2011 - 07:23:27 PM »
I have come across a 1970 challenger rt se with a 4 speed but the owner doesn't have the fender tags as it was hit and the frame rail was bent back. Also how do I know its a real 4 speed it has the dana and the reserve light in the dash and other things I should know before buying it thanks.

Welcome to the site. Has the owner searched for the broadcast sheet?

Hit hard enough to bend the frame--and it blew the fender tag off of the inner fender??  If the conversion was done right, then the only way to tell now is the broadcast sheet.

I hope the impact didn't knock the VIN numbers off of the core support also.  I agree with mjb, without the fender tag or build sheet it  will be difficult to know if the car came with a 4 speed.  Post some pics of the firewall and the floor tunnel from underneath the car.
