Use of trunkfloor brace

Here I am again with my bodyquestions..... The trunkfloor brace, what's the use of it?
Only for hanging the tank or also supporting the floor? I notice that it's only connected to the frame
at the back via those 2 ears so I doubt that second option or?
Secondly, can I just cut them out together with the floorpan or is there a reason to keep them "untouched"?

Their main function is to mount the tank.  They probably add a little strength to the trunk floor as well but that is secondary.

Some people have had issues with those braces fitting.  I know some people tried using a trunk floor from one company and the braces from someone else.

Do the one piece trunk floors come with those braces already installed or do you have to install them.  I know the old 2-piece floors didn't have them.

No, I had to order them separatly but they are all AMD if that means anything. Just thought leaving them on the pan while cutting it out would be easier.

I cut my old ones out with my pan, no structural issues.  Mine were pretty rusty that is why I cut them off with the pan.  If your are in good shape, it's a little more work to leave them in place, but well worth the effort, as the new braces didn't fit well and needed some massaging to get them to fit.

Unless you are going to let in a fuel cell flush with the floor I would go ahead and install them as was said before they are there to mount the gas tank and provide support for the sheet metal floor.  Some people have had a hard time installing the aftermarket ones on the aftermarket floors I would take them off carefully and try to reuse them.

Thanks, will try to remove them in one piece. Are they preassembled on the pan before it goes in?

I  don't know if you can accurately re-install them if you put them on before putting the trunk floor in.  I would carefully measure where they are currently on the car to the frame and rear cross support so they can be put in the same place and work with the stock gas tank.  You may need to massage them a bit to the new sheetmetal while keeping a close eye on the measurements of the original placement.
