looking for white vinyl paint
« on: August 03, 2011 - 10:35:32 PM »
I have a white interior in my Cuda and I was looking for some white paint to touch up some of my plastic interior parts.   About 6 years ago I got some vinyl paint from pep boys that worked great.   It was "off white" color.   My local pep boys doesn't seem to have it anymore.   Does anyone know where I can find a substitute?   I have found some marine off white on the internet but I do not know if off white is the same shade reguardless of where I get it.

I know of two things to try.  The first is to go to a parts store that carries SEM brand paints.  They should have a color chart of all the SEM colors.  You may find the correct "off white" in that line of paint.  I'm using the SEM Landau Black for my interior pieces and they are turning out great.

Your second option is to go to Herb's Parts.  They have a new line of interior paints that I've heard good things about.  I don't know where you live but Herb's is always at the Mopar Nats.  I'm sure they will be bringing their paints along to the show.

I would do a search for the correct SEM code for e body white interiors. I'm pretty sure I've seen it mentioned on here before.

I've used SEM in the past and it works great. Just do the proper prep work before hand. :-)

OK, here is the answer if anyone still wants to know.  I searched high and low and just got lucky.  Classic Industries had what I needed.

OER (original Equipment Reproduction) brand paint. #200 white, OER P/N 1195, Classic Industries P/N PP200.  It is 1969-1976 factory white and the match is great.  It seems to be good quality paint also.

These part numbers are for the 12oz rattle spray can.  I think they sell it in non-aerosol cans too.  Pints?  maybe?

Just FYI.
