I wanted the black elements to match the gloss black wheels.

I figured that's what started the theme. Great call. :-)

Something that won't require so much of my time (and money). This project put a little stress on the relationship with the wife which is the main reason she (the car) has to go.

 The strain should have been over a while ago, when the car was done....  KEEP IT.  Or sell it to me for a buck...
That will get rid of the wife pretty quick..
