Maybe a ok deal.  I sold my 71 Challenger R/T Plum crazy with a 440 That was in show room condition for 20K.
But that was 8 years ago.

I meant the 6 pack or the factory 4bbl? Which will be better for daily driving and or yield more mpg on the highway or in town?

IMO for a daily driver I would go 4 barrel.  As far as yeiled more MPG, go back to a stock Thermoquad because it has the smaller primaries and you'll get better mileage until you stomp on the gas.  The 6 pack is a cool think to have.  Don't know where you can get an AAR hood, but those are cool.

The air line kit dependeing on the company can be bought for like $20 at a local car parts place.  Do you know where the leak is?  Might just need an o-ring or two.  How are the leaf springs?  Air shocks a lot of time means the leaf springs are weak and air shocks are a quick fix, could be wrong.

$15k for a solid 'Cuda isn't bad.  A little tweaking here and there, new rims and maybe a hockey stick stripe will really liven up the look of the car, IMO.

.
"good" is a relative term in muscle cars. "good" is about 12-14 at cruise, which, respectively is miserable compared to just about anything else besides lifted Jeeps/Trucks. Oh and don't forget to run "premium"  :naughty:

Now that is a deal! Wish I would have scored something like that.

I think 2006 changed everything when the BJ cuda sold for 2 million.

Need more detail on what it's worth ($15k since that's what it sold for).

Two years ago, I sold my '71 383 Gran Coupe that was in great condition and just needed a trunk pan.  Interior flawless and drivetrain excellent.  $15,600 it sold for.  Took 2 months to sell it for that.

wow, I think you got a good deal, if no rust, and a decent paint job.
Also, if its not the original motor, since you want a new hood and stripes and grille, have you considered a 70 AAR conversion?
That car screams for it IMO, though the pursists will probably scream at me for the suggestion   :stirpot:

If you feel like you got ripped off, you did.

If you dont feel like you got ripped off, you didnt.

Not to sound smart ass-y, but thats really what it comes down to.

Your time frame, your location, what you want, what is available at the time etc etc ...all factor in.

These cars sold for $5k when brand new. LOL

I paid $9500 for my 72 318 fish 2.5 yrs ago...all it had was fresh paint/body and new tires/rims.

A non matching 318 came with it, no idea if it ran or not...seller said it did....looked ok.  No exhaust, rad, battery or battery tray,  tranny or shaft, no underhood wiring, interior was complete but all apart and needed redone.

It was worth it to me.......I wanted a project car with decent paint but solid in general.

I have a lot into the car at this point too.....little at a time....

Is it "worth" what I have into it at this point?  Dunno.

Don't really care.  I didnt buy the car as a financial investment.

Its my first real Mopar and I am in love.

There is no way to put a real market value on these IMHO.  SUre, the insurance company will...and lord knows the BJ/Mecum auctions have owners thinking they can get big $$$$ for their "one of a kind"....but in reality, our cars are worth whatever we can get for them when we sell them.  In your case, the selller got $15k.  So its worth $15k.

FWIW, the pics of the car are awesome.  Real nice ride IMHO.

Hope your love affair with this red vixen is a long healthy one!  :2thumbs:

A reproduction fiberglass AAR hood would look pretty excellent on that ride. But then again the ralleye hood looks great , believe it!!  people will love the car whichever way you go and all that matters is how it makes YOU feel when your take her out on the street / strip or whatever your plans are.

The more I look at the pics the more solid that car looks and the more it looks like it should be turned into a resto-mod because of the body colored spoiler and rear bumper.  There's a lot of red on that car.

IMO, IF it were my car, I would paint the front bumper, get some nice 17" minilite style/pan sport rims and do what GranCuda says and slap on an AAR fiberglass hood, semi-gloss the top surfaces and make a '72 AAR Cuda.  You have the 6 pack already....  :stirpot:  The semi-gloss black/AAR stripe will break up all the red, IMO...

Another member has one yes?  Is it IMNCARN or something like that?  I LOVE his car....  :2thumbs:

I think this is his car.....I'm still going....     It looks like a purpose built street racer, IMO.

Check the fender tag and see if "V21" is listed on it.  If it is, that is a very rare 72 only paint treatment for the hood.  If your car came with it, I would definatley put it back on.  If not, it would still look great and would break up all that red.

Here are a couple pictures of a 72 with the V21 option that was just painted.

The AAR look would also work on that car.  Paint the tail panel black as well as the spoiler.  The hood and tops of the fenders could also get painted.

Nice looker the more pics I see!  I may consider putting a '70 grille in there.  BE&A makes a good one.  tail panel would look good matte black.

 I thought the '74 Barracuda's price tag went down a little 3500-4000k tops.:dunno:
