are all repro headliners created equal?
« on: January 03, 2005 - 02:49:40 PM »
My headliner isnt too bad but it is the only thing in my interior that hasnt been replaced yet. Looks like repros start around $60+ shipping? Anybody personally recommend one vendor over the other?

I would recommend help from someone who has done the job before!  I've seen the tech articles in the mopar mags on the subject and it looks challenging!   :dogpile:

The job isnt too bad.  It just takes time and patience.  Make sure you have somebody else to help you.  I did mine with my uncle in my challenger and it turned out very nice.  It was our first time doing it.  And dont get the headliner bows out of order.
Too many projects and nothing gets done.

I am seeing 'perforated' and 'ribbed' headliners for my car. What is the difference? Does the ribbed have visible ribbing at each seam or?

Ribbed is a different pattern than perforated.  it has a cross-hatch look to it.  My car has a ribbed headliner and perforated sail panel boards.  I dont know if mine is original.  What year(s) had which headliner, and are there such things as ribbed sail panel boards?

I thought it was "ribbed for HER pleasure"?  :eekbig:

My car is a 72 model and I believe it is perforated but will look tonite. My sail panels look original (and shrunk) and look like cardboard covered with smooth black vinyl.  I still am interested in some recommendations on where to buy a headliner.

ok, just placed the order for the headliner from Legendary today. The sales guy told me there is enough material there to cover the sail panels as well. My visors are in good shape so I prob wont need to recover them. Will post back here on the quality of the product when I receive it
